Hypothetical team to start the first game in the Championship.

I could genuinely see this happening especially the manager, not sure they’ll still go with Dyche if he goes down, could make me ill all the same. Branthwaite is probably gonna leave too if we’re being honest.

Also as mad as it is we could see the return of the old gang of misfits like Gbamin, Dele, Virginia and Nkonkou as well. It’ll be a bizarre season.

Oh god, you’ve just reminded me we’re gonna be playing Dele Alli £100k+ a week to sit in the stands as a Championship club. Jesus wept. Unless we loan him to a Turkish club who’ll pay about £2k a week of those wages.

That's a relegation team. We are the next Sunderland.

This was never going to be a winnable game in a million years. Newcastle are a top 4 side. Having said that, our players did seem galvanised in the first half an hour and we actually held our own until we went behind.

Let's beat Leicester and see what the table looks like then.

I'll be in the East Midlands cheering on the lads on Monday night.

We all turned tonight into a winnable game because all our other fixtures looked even worse given our away form.

What worries me the most about going down is the unknown. None of us know what’s going to happen to us if we go and what state the club will be in, and what happens to the long term future of the club? Who will be our manager? Will we have new owners? What state will the team be? It’s scary to think about but it’s getting a more realistic thought by each passing week now.

Have a word lad

It's mad that we can be this bad and still get out the bottom three on Monday, but I also don't really care if we lose now just to get it out of the way

I worry a great deal about the very existence of the club. I'm no accountant but I just don't see how we will be viable as a going concern with our losses, our contract liabilities and our utterly enormous drop in income. How do we survive relegation?

Exactly we rely mainly on TV money which we’ll lose the majority of. The way I see it you get a crack at getting back up first time with the first parachute payment being the highest, but how much of that money will we be able to spend as it will be needed to cover the losses. It’s going to be a culture shock for everyone.
