I can't believe how negative people are being. You read this thread and you would think the teams around us are winning games for fun. People are talking as if we are going to need 9 or 10 points to stay up.

There are five games left. Over the last five games for the bottom five teams, there have only been three wins from those twenty-five games.

Leeds and Leicester have taken 4 points, Forest three points, we have taken two points and Southampton have taken 1. Teams at the bottom very rarely win. I think if we beat Leicester and Bournemouth last day then we have every chance of staying up.

COYB.

I still want to know why Doucoure is on 100k+ a week. He had been relegated twice, nobody else was in for him and he was probably on about 20-30k at Watford. Why are we paying him that much?

I kind of get Iwobi and Mina as they were probably on decent money at their former clubs but you probably could have given Doucoure 60k and he would bite your hand off for it.
The actual squad is now there for all to see. The majority of these players have seen off numerous managers and have had the luxury of hiding behind some quality. Now that the quality has gone we can witness how awfully poor these are

Very bad players being played ridiculous high wages

Know what the scary part is? I don't fully agree with the hiding thing.

I think the players try their best, they are just really, really, really bad at football.

Terrible squad make up too. Actually I think most top flight players have ability of some form or other, they must have, but we seem to have a collection of them who all have the same flaws. No guile or balls to go forward, terrible decision making, shaky temperaments, flaky etc.

We make everybody we touch worse.

I'm not totally against relegated players as such but these players should be 5-10m punts not 25m players getting boatloads of money.

I have just been trawling the football pyramid looking for a club who has scored less than us this season and am around level 7-8 where the clubs sound like train stations instead of football teams and I still aint found a worse record.
The lower leagues play more games and are further through their season because we had a break for the World Cup. We have scored 25 whilst Soton, Forest, Wolves, Palace and Chelsea have all scored 31 or less.

Of course we COULD stay up.

I genuinly think we are one of the 3 worst teams in the league. The table usually doesnt lie.

Last season we had 32 points, 4 short from where we were last season.........

I get that, but even with goal ratio.

If we cant score goals we aint staying up. I would love us to be able to flick a switch and start banging them in but its unlikely.

I honestly would not blink an eye if every player was sold, manager sacked, owner left, kenwright and the board left and went into hiding , coaching staff sacked.

they mean nothing to me.
Gutting the club and starting all over again if we go down is the only thing that’s appealing about relegation. Ive had enough of anyone who plays for, manages, coaches, runs or owns the club.

The table does lie though. A few games ago the table would have told you Arsenal was the best team in the League. Earlier in the season it would have told you Villa who are now pushing for Europe were fighting relegation.
