What I find astonishing is when we had limited Funds and you look at the team under Martinez in the 1st season we had Baines Coleman Distain, Jagielka, Stones,Oviedo, Hibbert, Barkley. Barry, Jimmy Mac, Osman, Lukaku, Mirrallas, Deloufeu and Peinaar. None of the players in the current team would get in ahead of these players. When I try to look at it objectively I’m staggered by the level of recruitment at our club in the last 7 years. I don’t think you could do worse if you was actively trying to derail the club.
I keep on thinking exactly the same, purely baffling who sanctioned some of these signings. Osman would be our star man now.

I wish I could be that positive. This club is so badly run that if we go down it seems to me that a lengthy stay in the lower reaches and financial oblivion is more likely than a quick return. I am currently in the depression phase of grief at the moment, however, and may be being overly gloomy.
I agree mate. Steve Parish the palace chairman says relegation costs the relegated club in the region of 100m in the first year. After 3 years it’s 150m. It is worrying indeed. We are already in a perilous financial position, relegation could not just impact the short term future of the club, but also the long term future of the it.

I think it is very telling that I would say that every year other than brands first summer (and probably Carlos) the squad has been weaker than the year before in some way. Absolutely damning.

I’m looking at the current situation and it’s catch 22. We are not in a position to go down financially, but we are also hamstrung by been in the premier league. We don’t seem to be able to integrate our youth effectively because we are paralysed by the fear of losing rather than winning football matches. This isn’t Dyche. This was even happening on Ancelloti’s watch. It has been happening since the Koeman/Allardyce axis and im afraid if we stay up this season it may only be delaying our relegation for next season. Recruitment and integration of young promising players has been nothing short of embarrassing and this has stems from board level it’s not all on the manager and coaches

If you look at it logically then Brentford are big favourites to beat Forest and Bournemouth are big favourites to beat Leeds. That would mean us going into the Leicester game knowing that a win would take us up to 16th place.

COYB.
The worst thing is that because of the likes of the Fulham result even a win against Leicester probably doesn’t save us. Just keeps us scrapping around the same number of points as those around us with winnable games running out.

I am a bit more level headed today... I think we will still go down.

As said previously there is no way I want to see Dyche getting promoted by keeping clean sheets, what does that mean for when we get up, more of the same as we have seen.

The Championship and the Premier League has shown the teams willing to play attacking football and playing to win brings more rewards than playing defensive.

For me offer Postecoglou whatever he wants to come and rebuild our club playing football the School of Science Way.... Dyche has completely lost the plot, threw away the Fulham game and now picking wrong players in wrong positions. How Maupay get on before anyone on that bench is negligent, we may aswell just take a player off and play with 10.

This club is absolutely F`d, but if we are going to build back then lets build back better playing attacking football.

Ange would be foolish to leave Celtic for here

It`s all about the Premier League, what other clubs would be interested in him, Leicester? Everton is a massive job if he got us back up, one of the top 10 in the Premier League, with the types of players he would bring in it would be exciting, not the turgid rubbish we have endured since the 90s apart from 1 season under Martinez.

When / if we get relegated I could have no objection to them pushing for the board's formal resignation, because we're all singing from the same hymnsheet then.

I'd still be asking why they're not demanding that the architect of this catastrophe be removed, though.
lol what?! when the season is over and the entire board are on their 7 star 3 month holiday sipping cocktails in the Caribbean somewhere, we should be uniting and marching against them?

No wonder the board have lasted so long when we have people who are saying ‘we should strike now!’ when the entire footballing world and media are off on their holidays. Would be the most pathetic protest in history
