A very depressing post from Ben Crawford on the red echos fans jury section. The sad thing is that i agree with pretty much all of it.

Thursday night felt like the end. The end of what exactly, I am not sure.

The end of Premier League football at Goodison Park? The end of Everton Football Club as we know it? Or even the end of us dreaming about Bramley-Moore Dock?

The performance from the players in that second half versus Newcastle United was embarrassing. Make no mistake, the Magpies are a good side and are having a very good season, but on a night when the fans did their part, the players seemed to offer nothing.

Of course, had Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s offside goal before half-time stood, then it could have been a different second half, but in truth, the Blues never turned up, and it seems that relegation is now an inevitability. For me, the impending doom of Everton goes much further than relegation.

Potential administration, point deductions, and an unfinished stadium are all real possibilities now, and there is simply nothing to gain from any potential 'relegation reset' that has been mooted by some fans.

The club is in its darkest hour, and I, for one, cannot see light at the end of this tunnel. The club is rotten to the core, and the fans have had enough.

Lads come on.
There are five crap teams in this league and we are one of them.
Under Lampard we looked dead and buried but Dyche had got us playing with more intensity and a better system.
We were abysmal with Onana, Doucoure, Coleman and DCL all unavailable but have looked better with them in the side which they all should be against Leicester who are one of the other crap teams.
In my opinion we have three games where we have a good chance of points and two where the odds are well against us.
If we took 5 points, looking at the other teams fixtures I think we’d scrape staying up, especially if one was a win against Leicester. If we manage more I think we’d definitely stay up.
If it’s in our hands last day of the season I think we have the best fixture of our rivals for who’s the least crap of the crap.
I’d love it to not come down to the final day though…
Superb post.

When we were 5 points adrift at a similar stage of the season last year and all the pundits and RS fans were prematurely celebrating the demise of our club.... we somehow strung together back-to-back wins against Chelsea at home and Leicester away. Of course, we the fans were instrumental in that turnaround in form.

So it's not over until the fat lady sings. I can't realistically see Forest accruing anymore points this season.
Last year we had a goal threat and heart in richy.

Leeds and Forest are that crap that we might get out of being this crap.
For me our only chance is if the required points total is crazy low. If Leeds lose today at Bournemouth and Forest draw their home banker against Saints then it is conceivable neither team wins another game and we could survive on 33 points. I think that is very unlikely. I think Forest will beat Saints and find one more result to get to 36 which we won’t be able to reach

Can see them winning their last game against Palace and Southampton

I’m 90% sure we’re getting relegated. Unless you can get McNeil on some performance enhancers to make him run faster. Our attacking wing threat is the worse in the league. Gray doesn’t deserve a mention he’s Greece league quality.

I love to optimism. I’ve given up hope tbh. Relegation is what we need. If we can survive financially with the new stadium n’all then one thing I’d hope to achieve from relegation is no more prima donna’s! Our team is a joke, right now we’re worse than Notts Forest. Let that sink in. Wholesale changes required. Sell the lot of em frankly. Not impressed with Tarkowsli, Coady, Keane, Mykolenko, Godfrey, docoure, Gueye, DCL, sell ‘em all. Unfortunately, this is the dross we’ll be left with as any half decent player will have to be sold to balance the books. Bleak times to be a blue.
Relegation today, tomorrow or next week is not what we need for this massive club of ours, it cannot be allowed to happen, it would ruin us, we would not come straight back up, especially with this bunch of players, in fact it could get worse, I don’t like thinking about it. 3 points tomorrow is a must

We simply have to start wining games..the rest is for the birds.
Been saying the same thing for months. We started saying it when we were outside the bottom three but were scared of being dragged in.

Now we're in and a loss tomorrow will very likely be the killer blow. We will not, as poor as they are, go to Wolves and win, especially after losing yet another must-win game tomorrow.

All but relegated with 4 games left - as embarrassing as it gets.

The board ultimately need to take the blame, but these players cannot come out of this season with their heads held high. The goals return from supposed attacking players has been absolutely pitiful and the likes of Maupay, Iwobi and Gray ought to be ashamed of themselves, whilst the likes of Onana and Gueye need to seriously consider their future playing positions as they've proven time and time again this season that they belong nowhere near the opposition's box.

It doesn't matter if you're one on one with a Premier League goalkeeper or a Varorama League one, if you consistently blaze the ball hopelessly over, wide or basically pass the ball meekly into his hands, you shouldn't continue to attempt to take on those efforts, pass the ball kin backwards next time if necessary. This is specifically aimed at Gueye, Onana and Gray. Iwobi doesn't even attempt to score.

The board take 80% of the blame as they've assembled a Championship squad and asked it to play in the Premier League.

But you cannot tell me that teams such as Brighton, Fulham and Brentford, largely made up of no-marks with the odd genuinely quality player amongst them, are THAT much better than Everton to a man.

Pickford, Tarkowski (Brentford have his former Burnley partner Ben Mee doing overhead kicks in their game yesterday), Onana, Garner, Gueye (who was playing every week with Messi and Neymar last season), Mina, Lewin (he'll have ended up playing a quarter of the season) - if you cannot build a reasonably solid team around that core then you've seriously failed as a manager or coach. Both Lampard and Dyche have miserably failed.

So I put 80% on the board, probably the other 15% on the managers and the rest on the players for not even putting up a fight. They've been kin pathetic.

Issue is those teams fixtures...

Leeds have Bournemouth away today. Bournemouth are safe with a win. Leeds win they're 5 clear of us. Then have a tough run.

Southampton have to play Forest away. Forest win, they're 5 away from us. Saints win they're 1 point behind us.

I think these two fixtures clear 2 teams.
