No mate. Smith confirmed yesterday that Iheanacho misses the Liverpool game and "hopeful" he'll start training with the Leicester team next week. That was all. Nothing about being fit for the final two games.

Pereira? A defender in a hopeless defence comes back in? I;m not really seeing the danger there tbh.
Smith said: "Hopefully he's due to train earlier next week rather than later. We thought he'd only have a build-up of two days before the Newcastle game, but he's ahead of schedule, which is really pleasing for us."
They don't play again after tonight untill next Monday, so possibility of nearly a full weeks training. Even if he doesn't make Newcastle he'll be back for their last game which will make a big difference for them.

Yes, that's what I've said apart from him targetting the Newcastle game. That's not a slam dunk start for Iheanacho. In any case, I cant see Iheanacho being the difference at Newcastle. Final day maybe. But if they lose the next two it's over for them.

If Leicester lose tonight I'd call them early as relegated along with S'ton. Newcastle will see Leicester as their easiest game left and will throw everything at them.

If Leicester win tonight I'll start being concerned about them. Anything short of that and I'm more concerned about Leeds and Forest.

Liverpool know the score. They've been round the block loads of times. They saw an inexperienced Newcastle stumble on Saturday and they'll know that another win places maximum pressure on them with difficult games against Brighton and away to a Chelsea team final day with Pochettino watching on.

There's no doubt they'll be eyeballs out looking for the win tonight.

Oh yeah this is the one fixture of the eight I have absolutely no doubt on. The PL are close to their holy grail of having United and Liverpool back in the CL and even relegating Everton doesn’t come higher than ensuring the establishment teams are where they need to be.

Tonight will end up the way we need it to by hook or by crook. I’d be more worried for the Newcastle Leicester game, as Newcastle will have to be outstanding to get past a set of officials who will be trying to tilt the playing field against them at any opportunity (as Hooper was doing for Leeds)

I’m hoping we get a mini boost from tonight, take it into the Wolves game and have points on the board before Lecister even kick off v Newcastle. That would be a decent position to be in, especially if Moyes has done us a favour v Leeds.

On Newcastle: if the PL want Liverpool and United at ther expense officialdom will act in a game where it's on paper a lot tougher for Newcastle: Brighton or last day Chelsea with Pochettino in the stand. I doubt they'd make a move in a game Newcastle should handily win.

Us: if Leicester are beaten tonight I'm counting them out early as any win for us is too much for them to overhaul. I actually still believe - regardless of recent performances - that Forest go down in the end. They have two points on us but much worse GD. I see Arsenal bouncing back big time. They'll be wounded and want to put matters right in terms of their season's progress. They've recently been to Newcastle and took them apart. Forest will hold no fears for them. And final day palace will be tough as teak. They have Hodgson retiring for good and they always produce an atmosphere. I see a point more at best for Forest.

By giving 2 penalties against them and sending off a Leeds player?

It's all guess work at the minute but I think the 4 fighting to stay up will all still be roughly on the points they are on now, come the last game. So even a defeat tonight is too early to call time on Leicester.

Maybe mate.

Hopefully we see Leicester defeated tonight. Even a draw would see us where we hoped we'd be: out of the relegation zone with two decent games left to get a win from.

As I said above in this thread: if we are at that point after tonight I'll be content enough. Because after that Newcastle game we were gone. That's been the massive dividend of being brave away to Brighton and hammering them down there. One more performance approaching those levels and we're pretty much home.

The ref on Saturday got most of the decisions right. Only questionable decision was whether Firpo should have been sent off sooner. I don't think the officials were bad at all in that game. Certainly not compared to lots of other matches I've watched this year.

If Leicester lose tonight I'd see a maximum 3 points for them. I dont see any points for Forest, tbh. I made the miscalculation that Chelsea would be well up for that on Saturday but they weren't. But against Arsenal and Palace, Forest will face two motivated teams looking to win.

We could need 2 more draws. That wouldn't surprise me.

I'd also cast doubt on Leeds getting more than 3 more points. So GD might see us stay ahead of those with two draws as well.

It'll be a big boost to be out of the bottom three still by 10pm tonight...even bigger if it's a lead of 2 points over Leicester, of course.

The pens were nailed on and couldn’t be ignored. The red card was too late in the game to affect anything, the damage had been done, Firpo should have gone for a straight red for his tackle, and failing that should have seen second yellow for deliberate handball for the pen. Sending him off in the last few minutes for denying another goalscoring opportunity didn’t change anything and just covered up the previous manipulation.
