But if the others lose, as we hope they do, Everton are free to lose too.

Sadly, they probably won't lose, so we probably shouldn't either.

In terms of top division league titles yes, but to be honest it’s a bit selective when you could look at the Number of major trophies won, when I think we then sit in 8th. On the European trophy front, I’m not sure where we sit but we would be equal with West Ham

Our achievements in this game are historical fact.

It’s like saying to a basketball fan that a load of people round the world don’t know who the Boston Celtics are because they won the majority of their titles in the 70s and 80s. Do you think any of their fans would give one?

What has happened in football in this country in particular with the PL is that a generation of fans are being fed propaganda on a daily basis that football didn’t exist before 1992 (unless we’re counting Liverpool’s and United’s titles), there were no good players from that period (unless they played for Liverpool or United) and if you don’t support a top 6 team then your team is nothing and you’re a laughing stock. Sadly all too many fans lap all this up and now actually hate their own team.
