It's all ramping up on Leeds this btw. They are now EXPECTED by their own fans and others to exploit a team apparently unfocused.

Imagine being a Leeds player...told you're expected to win away from home in a crucial match.

Let's see how they handle that expectation.

I guarantee Big Sam would have wanted a downbeat West Ham rather than an exuberant one.

If they got knocked out it's season over for them. Now they will want momentum going into the final. Can't be going into that game on the back of 2 defeats to bad sides
If they got knockded out there'd have been bloodletting on Moyes and the players would have been dispirited.

I fail to see how the very OPPOSITE of that is worrying news.

Against all conquering Newcastle that handed us our arse just weeks previously. West Ham are also crap! So are Spurs! I hope you’re right, but it will be no great surprise if Allardyce gets a win over West bloody Ham!
The other thing people forget is that the mighty West Ham are almost as crap as those of us fighting for our lives. They are six points better than this Leeds team. That, basically, puts them in the same class. Wolves, too. So, if Leeds are in a better position vis-a-vis us by Sunday night, we'll have nobody but ourselves to blame.

I wouldn't trust us one bit to see this through successfully. Nobody does. Hence the angst in this thread.

He definitely would. But it is what it is now.

I wouldn't rely on Moyes. He has form for throwing the next game after a success. That 7-0 at Arsenal in 2005 was an appalling disgrace.

Wolves aren't a good team and are pretty weak in attack. I sure hope they play Costa.

That being said they do have some quick players and are actually decent on the counter attack, seen them carve up quite a few teams doing that. Our attitude has to be the same as against Brighton. Sit in and look to counter attack them which worked so well.

I don't care how we win as long as we do. I fear Forest beating Arsenal in the evening kick off and then leaving a shootout on the final day between us and Leeds. I don't want the pressure of needing to rely on a result against Bournemouth final day.

It's impossible to predict - anything could happen

By whom?

I doubt there's too many Everton fans expectant of a win tomorrow. Hopeful, yes.

I have to be consistent and restate that all of us down there in this fight shouldn't pick up another point because we all play teams proven to be better than us this season as they are higer in the table.

However, the fact Wolves dont score a lot of goals + our very good away form in recent weeks in which we've scored a bit hands me hope of a point or three.

Agreed, we can’t try and play expansively (not like a Dyche team would) as they’ll pick us off. My big worry would be if we set up like we did against Brighton we absolutely cannot let Neves get time or space near the edge of the box, given his shooting and passing ability.

Not sure this helps our cause...

Can't blame them really. Great result.

I still reckon we eventually lost the FAC final in 85 after extra time because of over celebrating the ECWC, although we were the better team in 90 minutes.

However it is primarily for Everton to save themselves rather than hoping others to do favours.

Far too many abject performances is what has us in doodo land.

West Ham's results after European games on the Thursday:

Lose 2-0 v Brighton
Win 1-0 v Villa
Lose 1-0 v Everton
Win 3-1 v Fulham
Draw 1-1 v Southampton
Lose 1-0 v Man Utd
Lose 2-1 v Palace

Draw 1-1 v Villa
Win 1-0 v Southampton
Draw 2-2 v Arsenal
Win 4-0 v Bournemouth
Lose 2-0 v Brentford

Won just 4 of their 12 games after playing in Europe. Add in the hangover and it'll be difficult to expect them to get anything against an up-for-it Leeds.

That said, it's still in our hands and I still think 4 points keeps us up.

How many of them are at home?

Like Wolves, West Ham wont want to lose their last home game of the season before heading to a final.

But I had Leeds and Leicester both beating West Ham in my little run in predictions - based on West Ham being a bit naff themselves, having sod all to play for with a final. I also think Moyes rests one or two. His defining moment in his career as a manager is coming up - the chance to actually win a trophy - will he want to risk the likes of Rice vs a Leeds team fighting for their lives?

If we were them, would I want Dyche playing Calvert-Lewin vs Leeds when there's a final coming up?

It being their last home game hopefully helps a lot.
