I care. If we draw, and Leicester draw or lose, we're relying on Leeds not winning by more than 3.
I switched off at "if we draw".

As ive said for months, it only matters what Everton do, here we are, 1 game for all the marbles, win and ok, but anything else, BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

All we can say is that it's felt like we were down for sure on a few occasions in the last 5 months:

  • when the window shut and we got no one in
  • after we lost against Fulham
  • after we lost against Newcastle
  • At 2-1 down at Leicester as James Maddison stepped up to take his penalty
  • As Patrick Bamford stepped up to take his penalty at 1-0 to Leeds versus Newcastle United
  • 99 minutes into Saturday's game in Wolverhampton
  • When Rodrigo volleyed a Sam Allardyce special set piece to the back of the West Ham net on Sunday
  • When Leicester smashed a snap shot at the Newcastle goal in time added on on Monday
If we do stay up, Jordan Pickford and Nick Pope will have had quite a say in that...

Leeds will not win by more than 3. Rule that scenario out right away.
This has got to be the least of our worries. Leeds may well win - but by three? Nah. We simply have to avoid defeat on Sunday to eliminate Leeds.

Of course, if we lose, well, forget about it. Anyway, Leicester could very well win, so we need to win too. Leeds are almost irrelevant if we have anything at all about us.

Ooer.

...but here we are 2 points ahead of the relegation zone with a home game against a team that in their last 3 games have scored 3 goals and lost all 3.

It's time for our team to play a very strong game and win. But at least we know if that happens it'll be decisive for us.
The logic all points (no pun intended) to us being safe, and I know that in my brain - we are far and away in the best position of the 3 teams involved - but I am turning into @matty1878 perhaps... I just keep thinking that we could have an off day on Sunday and actually get bloody relegated to the Championship!
It plays on my mind at idle moments!

We're more likely to lose by 3 and Leeds win by 1 to stay up.

Either way, however garbage we think and know we are, both Leeds and Leciester are just as bad. I'd still rather be in our position going into Sunday.

That would put them ahead on points anyway. Leeds winning by three takes them ahead of us if we draw.

It says something about confirmation bias. Sides in the relegation zone don't usually pitch a blinder down the stretch to get out of trouble, but we remember clubs like Brighton a few years back and all of Roberto's great escapes.

The three in the zone right now have been really bad, though. In the second half of the season, Leicester is on 14, Southampton is on 12 and Leeds is on 10. Abject.

I wouldn't call it an off day, it'd just be a usual Everton performance. To stay up we actually have to rely on them having an unnaturally good day

Leeds may well win, Spurs are terrible.

But to do so, they’re supposedly doing so without Rodrigo and Bamford. Rodrigo missed training for them today, even if he does play, is he 100%? So 3 of their main attacking sources incl. Sinisterra could be out, I just can’t see them winning by 3.

Think we’ve all come to accept Leicester will roll West Ham over, but will they?

O’Neil has been open about how he’s resting players with the short turnaround before preseason starts, could easily rest players, in my opinion. We’re in the best position and all of the above becomes irrelevant if we win! You’ve never had it easier to stay up on final day Everton, just turn up.

I hope this graph, of all possibilities, helps?

In a nutshell it proves that EFC are crap.
