  • At 2-1 down at Leicester as James Maddison stepped up to take his penalty
  • As Patrick Bamford stepped up to take his penalty at 1-0 to Leeds versus Newcastle United
  • 99 minutes into Saturday's game in Wolverhampton
  • When Rodrigo volleyed a Sam Allardyce special set piece to the back of the West Ham net on Sunday
  • When Leicester smashed a snap shot at the Newcastle goal in time added on on Monday
If we do stay up, Jordan Pickford and Nick Pope will have had quite a say in that...

The bizarre decision to let Maddison take a penalty over Jamie Vardy who’s been their penalty taker for years may be what saves us.

The logic all points (no pun intended) to us being safe, and I know that in my brain - we are far and away in the best position of the 3 teams involved - but I am turning into @matty1878 perhaps... I just keep thinking that we could have an off day on Sunday and actually get bloody relegated to the Championship!
It plays on my mind at idle moments!

i’m scared we will just everton it

if bourbon go 1-0 up watch goodison melt

I was in the ground that day, didn't go on the pitch but I was full of the same joy so I guess I could understand it. In hindsight it was uber cringe
I can fully understand it. I wasn't there last year and haven't been for a while but I was there for Wimbledon (Horne) and Coventry (Farrelly) and was in a very jubilant mood after both. I don't recall Royle or Kendall milking it the same way Lampard did though.

I don't agree. There was nothing in Lampard's demeanour then to cast doubts on his ability. It wasn't horrendous, it was joyful.
There was enough in his demeanour to show he liked to be out in front when the praise was being dished out and much preferred to lay blame elsewhere. It was all about the collective 'we' in good circumstances. Lesser results and performances saw a considerable eagerness to emphasise 'I/me' and separately 'the players' rather than 'we'. That said it wasn't primarily his demeanour that cast doubts on his ability.

I'll leave it there though as I'm veering massively off topic. Ebepton 4 Bournemouth 0 COYB

It just creates a back 5 and takes Iwobi and McNeil out of the attack.

If we were playing for a draw it could work, as it's a solid shape that should keep us in the game but we wont be creating any chances playing like that with Iwobi and McNeil so deep.

Simms won't be playing as Dyche doesnt trust him, probably because he doesnt work hard and has no awareness of shape off the ball

It'd just be a 4.4.2 with Wobes as the actual right back.

Better players but the same attributes have converted from wingers to fullbacks and won stuff

Am going to just check Leeds and Leicester scores on the day. Then If they lose or draw I can be made up with out even checking how Everton got on. If they win then I will pray more than anything Everton got the win before I check.
