Villa aren’t in the relegation battle now but when they sacked soft lad they definitely were in the mud.

If we sacked Lampard tomorrow, there would be loads of better managers all over Europe who would want the Everton job, even while we are crap.

But Villa were underperforming under an awful manager. They have a top 8 squad.

We have a bottom 6 squad. Emery wouldnt have come here.

As for better managers, maybe. I'm afraid I dont see it mate. The lad run was Dunc and Pereira. Good managers arent going to come here.

We get Dyche or Martinez. It might be worth making the change, but that's the reality.

The league table says otherwise. They are in and around us for a reason.
Spot on.

The fans of other clubs around us must have said after we got a draw against City "Everton look organised; they'll be safe enough".

From Leicester down the quality is appalling. Us included. Any of those eight clubs could take the bottom three places. Leicester and West Ham probably have better squads...but that's what they said about us last season and we struggled until the second to last game to get clear.

Just seen that our top scorer is a grand total of 3 goals. Three.
There's only Leicester and Leeds that can get regular goals in the bottom 8 though.

Our excuse is a good one: we have no attackers and haven't played with an effective attack for the first half of the season.

Two more attackers get us out of the mess we're in, I'm very confident of that....I'm less confident of the scum in control of the club getting them in.

I dont know what type of bias it is, but it's a bias.

I'm on a group with a load of West Ham fans. They say the same things we do about Everton. They dont think theres a worse team in the league. They desperately need a forward they wont get. Stuck in Europe which is a distraction etc. They also say if we dont improve, we eventually sack Lampard and improve, but their board will mess it up re Moyes.

That's one example. Leicester with Rodgers has got poisonous too. Lopetegiu has started well at Wolves, but quite soon the honeymoon bounce ends, and if they are still in the bottom 3 it tends to unravel.

None of this means we are good. But they are bad.

People going on about how great Leeds are. They have a winnable game, have played ok and look to have found a way to lose. That is not a good sign. If you're playing well and losing, quite quickly you just stop playing well.

If the manager sets us up, as we did against United and City every week, I think we stay up. If he tries to play his way, we come 20th.

If we have a bottom 6 squad that’s fine, but you can’t finish in the bottom 3, you have to then finish 15/16/17th. Any lower is catastrophic and Lampard has shown nothing that makes me think he keeps us up.

We can’t get Martinez he has a new job.

Again, I ask why would a manager with three wins in thirty (Dyche) be the best we can get? I’d go for Marcelino, unattached, winner, would improve us, and would come.

And Leicester have an awful goalkeeper and poor defence. Leeds are like a poor version of us under the lowest ebbs of Martinez, like they are kamikaze, and will play well and throw results away.

They also run out of gas each season. Last season the collapsed from a higher base. That yank is a poor manager.

Why do you think he would come? I dont think he would come, or they would consider him mate.

I'm not being cruel, but theres no chance it happens.

Agree with all that.

And as you imply: if Lampard had set up more securely against 'lesser' teams we'd have had at least another 5 points to show for by now.

The survival is very doable...but we need reinforcements up front.

Why did Lopetegui go to Wolves? De Zerbi to Brighton? Emery to Villa?
Because they all want to manage in the PL.

I do agree though, I don’t think they will consider him, it will be the same recycled names.

This season I really do believe we aren’t getting out of it.

And if we are relying on some of these players linked, likes of Elanga, lads with no goal record, we truly are goosed.

It’s painful how little creativity we have in midfield, there’s no goals at all from that centre midfield.
