After watching MOTD2 I’m a bit more fed up with the situation.

Teams that can’t score go down, I’m guess we are all happy we got rid of quality for the likes of Gray, Gordon, McNeil, Maupay and Iwobi.

I think the Premier league is a closed shop anyway so from the perspective of relegation I'm not all that bothered. But what does bother me is losing a 70+ year consecutive top flight record and also losing a record of being a Premier league ever present. Relegation would effectively lower us a category in status and prestige.

It’s all very sad, isn’t it?

But all is not lost.

If we appoint a guy with some pedigree in terms of keeping problem teams in this division we will likely stay up. As things stand we are only one point off safety.

This is disheartening, but if we get relegated our transfer targets will be choosing the likes of Millwall over us.

With all the negativity around our once great club and with the fans as abusive as ever towards our own players… who can blame him for picking Bournemouth?
