We just have to push on now is the hand with have been given, i do think we will go down but we just have to back the manager and the team till its over we have nothing to loose now just have to go for it. On and off the pitch we have to demand for change so this club cant hide,

anyone remember Leeds in about 2004 ? In real financial trouble just about stayed the season before when they appointed reidy . Started the season by selling off assets & not replacing them. Sacked reidy when they found themselves in real trouble , brought in a couple of crap free or loan types but with no money looked doomed and disappeared down the leagues .

There are definitely similarities there unfortunately.

Don’t get me wrong there are similarities and relegation will be a terrible thing but what I will say is that although trousering the Gordon money without spending a penny does push us closer to relegation it also moves us further away from disaster if we do go down.

EFL P&S rules are tight and if, as estimated, we now post a small profit for this season it is an enormous help with that. The wage bill is slowly coming down as high earners depart and more like Mina and Doucoure will depart in the summer.

We will probably have to find about 100m between sales and wages but that is very achievable with some players who could be sold fairly easily (Pickford, Onana etc) and a few other higher earners who would have PL takers at the right price. We wouldn’t need a complete fire sale.

We still need investment (for the stadium in particular) and really need new owners but in terms of the nuts and bolts of the finances I think we are better positioned to withstand relegation than in any recent season.

In the EFL We can lose 39 million over 3 seasons , we’ve lost over £371.m in the last 3 with premier league tv money . Personally I don’t think there is a chance in hell we comply.

The number for P&S will be different after covid deductions, and then there is a conversion for the purposes of comparing PL p&s to the EFL rules. I’m not exactly sure where that leaves us but I know if this season is break even or slight profit it stands us in much better stead than if we’d tried to buy our way out of trouble and failed.

Do we know how that 3 year rule applies to clubs when they go down? Does the 3 year cover Premier League seasons as well or does it start with the first season in EFL? I know there was some talk on moving to a system based on expenditures to revenue, but to be honest I don't know the latest. I'm curious if our previous losses or wages will be the biggest issue. Either way, there's no question that any violations will lead to point deductions.

Yeah look I’m pointing at the last 3 years as an indicator . We’ll lose about £60m in TV revenue , they factor a minimum of 1/3 in sponsorship revenue and last year is almost definitely going to be a significant loss . If this year is a profit , if , it’d have to be fairly substantial to make a dent in those shortfalls.

There is a reason nobody does what we did and everybody rolls the dice it’s because we’ve just done is insanity .

As far as I know , and I’m far from certain , it doesn’t start with relegation although I’d be delighted to hear that was the case .if it isn’t I’d hope you might see more flexibility, I know they give you another 30 odd million in terms of losses I think , factoring that into penalties although we’re already operating on warnings .

Everybody else in the window strengthened & we have weakened our squad, makes no sense

Players like Orsic & Big Paul now at Southampton would of made instant impacts here

There was an agent on Sky transfer show last night saying he has a lot of players on his books, but not a single one would he recommend to head to Everton due to the "ongoing situation with the owners and the fans", or words to that effect.
