Mentality is a worry - celebrating that goal was their first instinct, not getting the ball back to the centre. Shows an acceptance of our level and that speaks volumes

We've forgotten how to win, I feel it's a terrible result today dropping two points against one of our relegation rivals at home.
I really hope we can change turn this round but last season's failings are still there.

We’re just a strange football club, and I honestly get more confused about it the more I think about it. Last season we barely survived, and we are building a very expensive stadium. I would have thought that any decent club would put measures in place to make sure we are 100% safe (nothing special, just safe) until we move into the new stadium and increase revenue. Instead we sold our best player, and are dithering about, not improving the squad and sleepwalking into relegation. Unless very dramatic changes to the squad occur before the end of the month we could be witnessing the beginning of the end for Everton. Very bad times ahead.

One thing that will be missed at the new ground...that special feeling in last 10 minutes when the Gladys end is trying to suck the ball into the net.

Forest were composed at the back for most of the game but suddenly it was all sliced clearances and misplaced passes in last few minutes and think it was Yates that got away big time with that poor header when Gordon couldn't quite lift the finish over the keeper.

As essential as the new ground is it will all feel very corporate pretty quickly and home form will likely take a knock so really need to get the 11 sorted out on the pitch otherwise club will just continue barely scraping prem survival just like for much of the 90s.

It’s a relegation squad without attacking additions.

Digne, james, richarlison, sigurdsson - all players whether you liked them or not contributed the majority of our goals (with DCL) over the last few seasons.

I think we need an entire new front three to stay up - alongside a new midfielder as well.

Defensively we have made astute signings but they won’t keep us up if we can’t score goals.

It’s no coincidence one club over the other in this city is galaxies apart in most departments and seeing that defended and placated is what irks me the most.

Not being able to beat a relegation favourite a home makes you become a relegation favourite.

Think Forest will be o.k. Considering they're signing a new player every five minutes 4 points from 3 games is a good start. Fulham are a different beast from last few times they've come up aswell.

Think Bournemouth will still be relegated but they've had a very tough start with the fixtures, also beat Villa comfortably at home first game so will have a few more home wins in them probably to be competitive.

Last season everyone including Norwich knew they were going down after first 3-4 games and Watford basically gave up when they appointed Ranieri so it was only one relegation spot in play for six months.

Dosen't seem an obvious bottom three this time. Promoted teams are giving it more of a go and even a team like Southampton who ended last season poorly have just gone to Leicester and won. Think I had Southampton, Leeds and Bournemouth as my bottom 3 at start of August.

Very clear that taking Rondon off today we’re so much worse. This team without a striker goes down, with one I think we could do ok-ish.

The most disappointing thing looking at it now is looking at Arsenal compared to us now. Not saying we’d be competing with them or whatever but they took on Arteta the same time as we did Ancelotti. At the time it seemed like both clubs went with the wrong move and should’ve reversed it and now with the power of hindsight of course given how Carlo’s time here went I wonder if we did make a really bad decision.

If I were an Arsenal fan I’d absolutely love that team, players and manager. Arteta very early on set a marker down that he wasn’t gonna tolerate bs from players and got rid of some big names. Now look at them, one of the youngest squads in the league but they’re class, great work ethic and very easy to see their style of play too.

This Everton team is the total opposite, we’re still trying our best to get rid of problem players from 3+ years ago. It’s depressing knowing that no matter what we do we’re likely 2 years before we can properly reset and who knows what state we’ll be in by then.

It’s just very depressing. I grew up with Everton under Moyes so basically always a steady to good side in the league and these last few years have been really rough for me, I can’t imagine what it’s like for the rest of you lads that grew up with us actually being a great side, winning things.

Take away the top 6 or 7 teams and you can pretty much throw a cigarette paper over everyone else (Bournemouth aside who are a Championship team).

It's a fine line between finishing top half and battling relegation this year.

Really? Finishing above Newcastle feels a bit optimistic at this point given their run end of last season and they've continued making intelligent signings like Nick Pope and Sven Botman.

Brighton have started well but they are streaky but then you don't need to be amazing all season to finish top 10.

Leicester have begun poorly but I can't see them battling relegation with Vardy and Maddison.

Palace just picked up a very good point at RS and beat Villa comfortably today. I wouldn't even have them finishing top 10.

There's plenty of decent sides in mid table. Generally though they all have something in final third so that's the big difference with a side looking utterly toothless. Those sides usually finish bottom 6.

The only team I’ve seen that look worse is bournemouth albeit they’ve played city and arsenal.

Even with a new striker relegation is 50/50.

How much we spend the last 10 years nearly got relegated last year and now this year we have a busy thread about a possible relegation. The money we spent the summer alone we would be talking moyes with top 4.
