I see lots of positives from how we’ve played, we just miss that striker so much.

Maybe I’m naive, I think we’ll be fine providing we stop fannying round and actually sign at least one striker.

It’s soul destroying this afternoon watching average teams like Leeds and Newcastle playing really good stuff.. just makes me realise how bad and how far behind we are!!
You're right.

The last time we looked like we had a plan and a style was in Martinez's first season. Since then we have fallen away badly and now alarmingly...even when we'd spent a lot of cash.

To many way over worried people in here after 3 games… Chelsea are a top top team and normally beat us.
Villa become a bogey team for us since they came bk up and we almost got a draw
Forest..at least we didn’t lose
Chelsea at home we normally beat
Villa I give you. Still should have got at least a point as they are poor
Forest were shocking. 2 points dropped

They don't particularly play good football they just run about a lot, but that puts pressure on the opposition.

Them not panicking will probably be more to do with the fact that they wither qualified for Europe or finished just outside the places. A dramatic fall for them would be lower mid-table. We finished 4 points above the relegation zone last year. The team below us that stayed up is already 6 points above us.

We don't have to fall very far . . .
Last season was a stat that's all. Few wins and we are fine. What I'm saying is more than enough time to get some solid points in prior to Christmas. If we are in the same position in a couple of months then rightly so we are deep in the shizzle.

Add to that we got off to a much better start last season, we're already playing catch up after 3 games, 6 points worse off then the great start we had to last season.
Jeez! Don't you ever stop getting off about the 'great start' to last season under your hero the FSW?
We got points, but played absolute crap for the most of the first four games and somehow managed to scab 10 points. Then reality set in and we got, what was it, something like 9 points from the next 45 played for. Bounced out of the Cups far too easily. All under the heroic Benitez.

Forget the 'good start' of last season and look at reality instead. This club has been in a tail spin since Calos knew he was off to Madrid in the January 21. The 'great start' of the 21/22 soon burnt out and the re-building of confidence did not take place until that oaf was bulleted. Though you insist on clinging to some unfathomable notion that Benitez was a messiah. Tell me again, how did we do after the 'great start'? We did not do too well, did we.

Now I am not a huge Lampard fan, but I accept we are seeing more desire and a fitter team than for the ENTIRE reign of Benitez. Something I fear you cannot. A non-medically induced form of scotoma.

Yeah a striker and we are world class! Why bother with decent midfielders, the only thing in football you really really need is ....strikers!
