Dyche is a good appointment due to the fact that he has been here before and has Championship experience gaining promotion.

The board got there by luck but let the fans and the club down by failing to plan adequately for the January window which ended embarrassingly for us with players bolting from under our noses and getting blown off by players going to our relegation rivals.

We all saw the deficiencies of the team after the summer window so not to plan for that is scandalous and effectively (barring a miracle) relegated us
It’s not going to be easy and I agree we haven’t helped ourselves but it’s not going to take a miracle. We just need to be a bit better organised and our players to play a bit better. Easier said than done but we’ve just got 1.5 ppg from two of our hardest remaining fixtures and a ppg of 1.25 will see us to 38 points. That requires a big improvement from what we’ve been doing but with an experienced, streetwise manager not a miraculous one.

I said it a while ago that i thought with the Coady and Tarkowski signings, that we were hoping to keep as many clean sheets as pos (which we know we wont) and try and nick as many games as we could 1-0 - we may get lucky a certain few games and get 2 goals in a game our way but not many
Well we have only scored 2+ goals twice this season so far. Yikes. Hopefully that changes under Dyche but the incompetence from the board is baffling.

Just had a gander at our next 6 games after Villa, 4 of those games are Arsenal, Chelsea and Man U all away and Spurs at home (the other 2 are Forest away and Brentford home) We need the maximum 6 pts from Leeds and Villa.
Hopefully Chelsea continue to struggle, not that I expect a win away but a point would be nice. A win away to Forest is an absolute must and a win home against Brentford as well. I’m really looking forward to that Brentford match after how last years went. If this squad has any fight in them they will be up for it.

Conventional wisdom goes out the window with us though. End of last season we got 1 point from Brentford, Burnley and Watford and 9 from United, Chelsea and Leicester away.

We’re still in a position where no game is an absolute must win but likewise no game is a write off.

Yep, ive said it a few weeks now that the 3 home games and forest away are big and for me we have to win 3 of those, as you say because of the other games,

Yikes!

I'm maybe in a minority but I thought Marsch would've been a decent shout for Southampton, he seems to be a decent man manager and could possibly connect with a group of fairly talented young players who didn't connect with Hassenhuttl or Jones.

The longer Leeds and Southampton limp along with supply teachers the better- there can be an interim manager bounce but it tends to be fairly short lived, like Jackson at Burnley at last season who got a few results before ultimately taking them down.

It'll make very little difference if we can't perform ourselves of course, but the fact Bournemouth, Leeds and Southampton are currently managed by guys who had no prior management experience at all, in a highly pressurised situation, helps a bit.

I pretty much agree. I think villa at home is amongst the 5 easiest fixtures between now and the end of the season. It therefore falls into the category of must win.

Leeds (H)
Bournemouth (H)
Forest (A)
Villa (H)
Palace (A)

This is worrying to me, because I feel we are pretty clear underdogs in 2 of those games and yet they are the easiest we have left. Could maybe include Fulham (H) and Brentford (H) over the away palace game but I think they are both much better sides than the current palace team. If only we'd got 4 points out of southampton, wolves and west ham.

every game is a must win
