Nope. Continue your working out and apply it to the remaining 11 games or 33 points at stake having achieved a laudable 9 out of the next 4 games as you proposed. Put it another way, sitting on 27 pts with 33pts to play for gives every reason for optimism. I know the pessimists on here hold the ground but all is far from lost despite the gloom and doom propagated by some ranging from the ludicrous we are down if we lose to Leeds.

COYB!

John.

Think we need 8 points from the next 5- Leeds, Villa, Arsenal, Forest and Brentford. So a draw today wouldn’t be catastrophic but it just heaps more pressure on those next games.
Leeds might be in danger of doing what Burnley did last year and read too much into a couple of games where they show a bit of fight with a caretaker manager and leave him in charge for the rest of the season.

If we got 8 points from the next 5 as you say.... we`d still need 12-14 points from the last 11 games which are Chelsea A, Spurs H, Man Utd A, Fulham H, Palace A, Newcastle H, Leicester A, Brighton A, Man City H, Wolves A & Bournemouth H.....

So still a tough even if we did get 8 points from the next 5 games.... I`m worried this season. I`m concerned this is the season, it will affect a lot of people like myself as we get towards the end of the season.

Even if we win I fail to see where we pick enough points up, the lack of goals will be what sends us down... I did a prediction table looking at our remaining fixture, can only see us getting to 34 points including 3 today......

Leeds H Win 1-0
Villa H Draw 1-1
Arsenal A Lose 2-0
Forest A Draw 1-1
Brentford H Win 2-1
Chelsea A Lose 2-0
Spurs H Lose 2-1
Man Utd A Lose 3-0
Fulham H Win 2-1
Crystal Palace A Draw 1-1
Newcastle H Lose 2-1
Leicester A Lose 3-1
Brighton A Draw 1-1
Man City H Lose 3-1
Wolves A Lose 2-1
Bournemouth H Win 2-1

Tough tough fixtures.... I think I`m mentally preparing for the worst, poor result today will pretty much confirm what I`m thinking.
I share some of your concern but perhaps a bit early to predict fixtures to the end of the season. On paper we have some very winnable home games but need to take full advantage of these next two

Perhaps too early but this group of players are used to losing, they`ve lost 33 of the last 60 games, winning just 15. WON 15 of the last 60 games....

The direction of travel is clear, I` m not sure a run like that can be turned, we saw Lampard came in last season we got something like a 1 game bounce, failure to beat Leeds will prove history repeating itself. We really need this bounce to last longer than under Lampard.....

One of my criticism of Lampard is that he changed the shape of the team and personnel every week, Howe kept consistency which is how I think Dyche might go. That could be beneficial but our players just arent good enough and there is a massive lack of goals!

Totally heartbroken to see the club in this mess, its just a mess from top to bottom, I`m losing hope. Anxious and nervous for today.......

I’m trying to get myself to accept relegation in the hope it will be less painful when it eventually happens! I was worried we’d go bankrupt but with 40 million banked from Gordon, plus Kean and Onana money we’d avoid financial oblivion. I’m hopeful it would tip the current board out and bring in people who know what they’re doing. I look at Newcastle and Leeds as examples and hope we’ve got enough about us to bounce straight back up ready for the ground move. I dread going the game now but can’t not go. It’s just grim going one week to the next not knowing if we’ll score, let alone win. It’s like an abusive relationship. The club is bigger than any one season, and if we go down, we’ll still exist and we’ll still be here. Hopefully with people in charge who can put us on course for a brighter future.

I dont want to be dramatic but going down really be the worst thing for this club, the financial burden and poor accounts means we could be another Sheff Wednesday or Oldham. With how poor we have been run its not beyond the realms of impossibility that further along the track Everton could be the 1st ex Premier League team to go out of business.

If we didnt get up in the 1st season then the next we would undoubtedly take a points deduction, all the best players will have moved on, on the cheap and we`d be left with the big earners not wanting to move that add little value to us playing games in the Championship.

Thats why we havent been bought yet, who wants to buy a club that will literally implode if relegated and we are one of the favourites, we are sat in those places with the worst scoring record in the league.....

Lets just take one game at a time. We can't predict the future, or we'd all be millionaires!

That`s not the way we do it on here mate.

Five minutes into the new season, we`re getting relegated and it`s time to pick a player to write of as " crap, waste of space etc "

You then stick to your guns, by wading into that player, at every opportunity, even when they`re playing well.

Even when we win, we`re always lucky and deserved to lose.

Every team in the league, is a beacon of a well run club, has a manager, that we can only dream of, players who all play to the best of their ability and would die for the shirt, rather than our gang of misfits and wasters.

Teams like Leeds, get elevated to Champions League contenders, even though, they spend most of the season, scrambling around in the bottom of the table, same as us.

Hope this helps.

I was thinking that this time last year, but we’d get 50 million for Onana, 30 million for Pickford, 20 for Kean even if Juve don’t cough up. Plus 40 banked in January from Gordon. That will plug the financial black hole for next season and should leave change for some signings, the relegation premium is estimated to be about 90 million. I accept we’d need to come straight back up though to avoid meltdown.

Hopefully these comments age well, we need to beat Leeds....

The fact of the matter is this today, Leeds have scored nearly double what we have this season, yes they`ve conceded alot too but without DCL we are getting 1, 2 tops. They are more than capable of scoring many more than that and only conceded 8 less.

I`m not sure a team relegated and needing a fire sale gets £50m for Onana and £30m for a Jordan Pickford in the last year of his contract. There would be buyers but I`d expect our pants pulled down over these, not saying they arent worth that figure but any buyers could just wait it out and we`d need the cash quickly...

Makes no odds if we win, as the usual mentalists, will still find a way, to pick the result and team to pieces.

Is that not what supporters/fans do? Analyse teams performances and player performances, some will like the same players as you others wont. But everyone is free to say what they believe to be right... Or are we looking at banning free speach?
