It also indicates that Dyche's approach isn't simply about defensive stability. Better use of the ball and having an approach that isn't just 'hope and pray' will likely lead to more opportunities to score. Lampard was not a serious coach.
Completely. I was very pro-Dyche, and my main argument against people who had concerns about his style is that effective football is always more exciting than ineffective football, no matter what style is being attempted.

A more combative approach isn’t just designed to defend our goal but to create opportunities to attack, and so far that’s by and large been effective, far more effective than our attempts at possession football under Lampard, which invariably resulted in chances for our opponents not us.

Wolves away, Bournemouth at home are the last 2. I'd guess most of the teams near the bottom have it worse than that.
Like you say tho, they are the worst teams for us when looking for 'Expected' wins.
Unless Wolves are already safe and Bournemouth are already gone then they could be the bullet that kills us.
( That's if it hasn't already happened )

If we can beat Brentford that will be a massive result, and pick me up. Before a painful run of games.
( When Dom, Garner, Patterson all should be back for..

lol what. Tom Davies still gets on the pitch and we have to start a knackered Gana. Mykolenko is our starting left back and our backup isn’t even good enough to step in for him for one game, how can you call this strength in depth? Simply having a lot of bodies doesn’t equal strength in depth.
Do you think I'm comparing our strength in depth to City?

Look at the teams around us and compare. We have CMs of Doucoure, Gueye, Garner, Onana; we have CBs of Tarkowski and Coady who can be augmented by Godfrey, Holgate or Keane; we have a pair of FBs for both left and right flank; we have Iwobi, Gray, McNeil and possibly Patterson out wide.

I suggest you go and look at other teams and see what depth they have.

Quite like to see this from an Everton perspective- maybe the journalist has exaggerated a bit but there’s a whiff of complacency here from Maddison. It’s helpful to us if the likes of Leicester or West Ham keep believing they are too good to go down while not getting the results to prove it.

At the end of the day it all comes down to the tools that someone has at there Disposal,
the whole If's and But's around Manager choices, we've effected there role before they ever set foot in the door.

Its like bringing in an Electrician and asking him to fix your pipes.
And Vice Versa.

|Timing of the change would of played a massive part but I doubt we were Ever gonna spend in the window

Maddison is having a laugh isn't he? They had no shots on target against a 'kin rubbish S'ton, so where is his numerous brilliant chances coming from? I know you can create a chance that doesn't get on target, but to squander all 11 shots without forcing a save is pathetic.

Most tradesmen are very decent at other trades other than their own.

That's what we're doing under Dyche: adapting to hopefully get the job done.

Yeah, it’s a strange thing for him to lash out about. Quite incredible to be 2 points above the relegation zone and publicly calling out journos for suggesting they’re in relegation bother. Maybe he thinks he’s too good for relegation but if they’re all that complacent it’s good news for the other teams around them.

You’ve just listed a load of names there though, that doesn’t signify strength in depth, it just means we have a lot of crap players. Strength in depth requires you to actually be strong in certain areas, not just have a load of bodies registered. There isn’t a single decent player in that list of wide options for example, we’re clearly not strong in that area.

The table never lies. No team right up to possibly Palace will get a rocket fuelled boost out of this mess. Only teams clicking into a consistent level of play in order to pile up the necessary points steadily, if unspectacularly, will survive.

IMO, and overall, Dyche is providing the evidence to suggest Everton can be consistently competitive in our games. If we carry on what he's set up so far we are very much in play to finish out of the bottom three.
