I said a fortnight ago that one of Palace, Leicester and West Ham are in a fight but they don't know it yet.

I see nothing that dissuades me on that.
Take us out the equation and West Ham have only beaten Forest since October.

Erm, I think West Ham know. They're a point above the relegation zone and got turned over 0-4 at the weekend. It's a bit of a clue like.

You’ve just listed a load of names there though, that doesn’t signify strength in depth, it just means we have a lot of crap players. Strength in depth requires you to actually be strong in certain areas, not just have a load of bodies registered. There isn’t a single decent player in that list of wide options for example, we’re clearly not strong in that area.
We're not a team of superstars. But we do have numbers and they are around the same quality in midfield and defence (Tarkowski aside). That's the point: we can slot in similar quality players and remain competitive.

You see nothing that indicates Palace don’t know that they’re in a relegation fight yet?
I mean, you’d think the league table might be a clue. I wonder if they’ve seen it yet.

Indeed. And second from bottom in the last 6 form table. Everton a mighty 13th ahead of Chelsea, and a Coleman penalty decision away from going level with United who were supposedly back to their best.

Points and momentum both important for teams in the poo (up until the games run out at least 😎)

He's saying he sees nothing to dissuade him that Palace or West Ham are outside the relegation scrap.

FWIW I dont see Palace going down in a month of Sundays.

Well we stayed up last season due to Richarlison being a beast for the last few months and single-handedly getting us points. We don’t have that any more.
He did well, no doubts and was our key man. But the whole team performed a lot better when it came to the crunch (i.e. after the Burnley loss) and half of Richie's league goals from the Lampard tenure actually came in defeats, so others obviously did their bit too.

Also we recently beat a better team (Arsenal) than we did during that run-in (the best being 3rd place Chelsea), so there's always hope.

Players coming back will be very welcome as well, a more balanced bench to select from.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin back will allow us to change it up quite a bit as well, allow us to push Gray wide so we have pace on the wing.
Any danger Townsend kicks a ball again?

Maybe Leicester will go down…just as bad as the rest of us.

I'd say the shake up is likely to be be B'mouth and S'ton along with us, West Ham, Forest and Leeds. Maybe it stretches to Leicester too if they lose the many '6 pointers' they have with other relegation threatened teams.

I said above that we need consistency to get out of this. IMO even the consistency of 7 points from 6 games that Dyche has got so far can hand us a strong chance of staying up, but I think we can do better than that.

The Steady Eddies will get out of this.

Most tradesmen are very decent at other trades other than their own.

That's what we're doing under Dyche: adapting to hopefully get the job done.
Yeah and we all hope that.

But my point wasn't aimed at the specific manager choice, it was saying that he's come in to fix a problem with the wrong tools at his disposal.
And wasn't given the chance to bring a few of his own to do the job in hand.

Until a few specific players are back he's stuck looking around the squad scratching his head.

Not making changes earlier yesterday was probably more down to seeing the list of options he has in front of him.

One thing for Dyche, last season we absolutely would’ve lost that, it was giving me Burnley vibes at 2-2. You only have to look at the Wolves and Southampton home games to see how brittle we were under Lampard.

Got a lot to do, but feel better with Dyche so far than Lampard.

I was genuinely astonished we didn't lose after they made it 2-2 to be honest.

Thought myself earlier that it would be West Ham that get sucked in. Not that they are clear in any sense. Let's hope so.

I don't see Leicester, Wolves, or Palace being in any danger ultimately. But you never know.

That leaves the current bottom three + W Ham, Forest, and Leeds. I think Forest might do enough also. Leeds firmly in it as we know so on that basis, W Ham are in it also. Their form has been worse than ours.
