We still have exactly the same number of points and goal difference as we did after the same number of games last season (25 points, -18 GD). We only took 4 points from the following 5 games at that point so there’s still a decent chance if we can keep the spirit up.

It would be nice if one, or ideally two teams could start to get cut adrift over next 3 or 4 games. Just not happening this season at the moment though, any of the bottom 7 could just as easily finish bottom as 15th.

Not going to happen. Southampton are adrift but they actually have Brentford at home midweek in game that was supposed to be in September so I could see them winning that if they get the first goal.

Bournemouth well in it now and have a couple of winnable home games left.

Leeds have Forest at home in early April so that's a huge one for them.

West Ham somehow got a run of three straight home games. They're in big trouble if they don't win two of them.

Today was crucial but aways v Chelsea and Man. United and home to Spurs could easily be 1 point return and then things get critical again with just 8 games remaining.

Think target has to be to be 17th by time Fulham game comes around as then you do have a decent path to safety as means teams around won't have capitalised enough.

I didn't want Dyche at all and he is doing a very good job considering the hand he's been dealt. But it is all so touch and go because of our lack of quality compared to the teams around us.

For example, there is a lot of talk of us needing to get 36 points to stay up (which would have been enough for something like 9 of the last 10 seasons) but it really does look like it is going to have to be more than that. Such a big ask with this squad of nothingness.
That’s how I see it too mate, ridiculous window-gross negligence.

But Dyche is doing a lot better than I expected and it’s great that he is.

Including the West Ham defeat under Lampard to the win today - 8 games....

No mate, that's realistic.

How is it optimistic to say that if we do what we've done so far under Dyche then we get the points to stay up?
I'm a pessimist. We're short of a striker. We are currently out of the bottom three but all our rivals have games in hand.

I just don't see it being nearly as easy as you make out. We could easily lose our next three. In fact that's the most likey scenario.

Dyche's return is good at the moment but to make up for Tory Boys mess, IMO we need to get a little unbeaten run together. We could do that after the next three games but it's not a given.

That bottom half of the table is ridiculously close, at the moment you’d say palace are in that mix now!
I can’t remember it being as tight as this!

It is going to be a rollacoaster to the end, said before just as we start to have no hope they pull us back in and vice versa. I can see our goal difference taking a battering as we'll lose some games 2/3/4 nil and when we win we only win by the odd goal.

That said we've won 3 out of 4 at home and that is form that gives us a good foundation. Manage to get a win against Spurs and you would fancy our chances against Fulham and Bournemouth.

I dont say it'll be easy or hard. I'm projecting just on what we've seen so far. That's not far fetched or optimistic.

We are better organised and hungrier than under Lamaprd and that's turned losses into wins or, as last week, a draw.

We're still right in this dogfight, but we know we have a manager right up for it and players carrying out his instructions and giving everything.

Forest will fall like a Stone now. They'll panic and they wont know how to handle it.
