We had 21 defeats last season. I can’t see that happening with the experience and fight we now appear to have in the team. Even if we win the same amount as last season (surely not a big ask to win 11 games out of 38), we should be absolutely fine just by picking up a lot more draws in games that would’ve been defeats last season.

An overall stronger, more cohesive team unit will win us more games compared to last season where we had no defence or midfield.

11 wins starts sounding more difficult when you only have 32 left and 5 of those are against Tottenham, Man City and Liverpool.

11 wins is just winning the home games we should be winning- we have 12 homes left against non top 6 (from last year) teams. Win 8 or 9 of those and we'll grab the rest we need away to those teams and by nicking points against the top 6.

But don’t bank on draws. Last season Burnley drew 14 games but only won 7. Not getting beat is good but need some wins and sooner the better

Aye, defo need to win a few!

Bournemouth and Forest will go I think. Then really there's quite a few teams in the mix. I do feel if Leicester replace Brenda soon as they'll be sound and kick on.

Would love Gerrard to just win/draw enough games to see him still employed, but eventually take them down.

I think grinding out the draws before the end of the window was needed, and we've done pretty well to be in touching distance and not rock bottom considering the squad we had in some of those games. To get 4 points from 4 draws not one win and a draw (with 4 losses) like Villa or West Ham is a lot more positive especially after last season. Villa and West Ham have had poor starts but it doesn't feel as much like we have yet we're level.

Some draws should turn into wins as the signings gets fitter and our first 11 begins to gel. We could've easily lost all 6 with no striker and in previous seasons we might have done. I'm feeling a lot better about things.

Definitely positive signs and whilst we could have lost six we could also have won at least one or two. Everton never seem to get a break these days which is a bummer when you see other sides gifted three points on occasions. We will be fine this year

After that Villa game I felt like we would lose the next 10. Villa are absolute cabbage, yet we found a way to be worse. Incredibly though, a solid midfield and playing 4-3-3 has really lifted a lot of spirits, you could see the positives.

I saw enough yesterday, to know we aren't going down this season. Solid defence and now the midfield, once Malpay/DCL get firing with Gordon and we'll be sound.

Exactly - they’ve won because the general public have lumped on us going down as well as Bournemouth and Forest.

Give it a few more months and they’ll be lumping on Villa or Leicester, whoever’s bad form continues the most and so on.

Last year people chucked money on Arsenal going down after the first few matches.

The bookies always win because people are stupid and judge seasons on a handful of games. As much as I hope it happens, I don’t think Brighton will finish above the RS like they are sitting right now…
People are like sheep, the media said that Martinez bloke for United was too small to play centre half. All of a sudden he’s a world beater. They are full of [Poor language removed]
