So next game is hopefully West Ham at home a week today.

This is chance that must be taken to climb up the table now.

West Ham are tricky to break down but they've had a poor start, it's a home game and will also be playing away on Thursday in europe and their record was pretty poor after those games for most of last season.

Win that and get something off Southampton and Man. United and can get back into mid table pack. Not win any of next three and I fear club will just be stuck in bottom 6 beyond the world cup break.

Ground out a lot of 1-0 wins that season
Then got snottered by the Gooners in the last game, er 7-i I think it was. @BlueStevie35 called it right by the number of close wins we had which, as we all know, gave us the points if not a good goal difference.

The thing about that season was the fact the rs cried their way into the CL despite having insufficient points. Fast forward 18 years and, whoosh, welcome to the new and improved qualification process for the 'modern' (corrupt) CL.

We lost 4-1 to Arsenal on the opening day as well so were on -10 just from those two games.

Not sure where you've got that idea from. They won their last game in the Europa Conference, were very unlucky not to get something against Chelsea, drew with Spurs and beat Villa
apart from winning their European game, being unlucky against Chelsea, drawing with one of the best teams in the league and beating Aston Villa away, apart from all that they`ve stopped playing for Moyes.

Apart from Bournemouth it is hard to pinpoint any other teams as likely relegation candidates. The season is unusual in that regular candidates such as Brighton, Palace, Southampton, Fulham etc are all greatly improved teams.
