A very tricky round of fixtures nows not the time to turn on Dychy.

A draw against Palace & win at home to Newcastle and we're in good stead. We need our better players back available if we are to stay up.

Palace in great form at the min , think they will win easily against us.

Anthony Gordon to get a hat trick on his return and kiss the badge in front of the Park End

I think we are done but if forest lose all the teams bellow did so made no ground but lost no ground. I still think we finish above Southampton and forest. I just don’t like that it’s Leicester down there they have a lot more quality than we do and think they stay up at our expense.

There's a good chance that our game against Leicester decides it now.

I was at the national yesterday so missed the match, but was absolutely gutted at the result and performance (was getting very depressing updates constantly from my mates).

It’s still just about in our own hands with the fixtures remaining, but we are running our of games, and if that’s the level of effort and desire they are going to show going forward then we are right in the brown stuff.

Need to get and keep Coleman, doucure, Onana and DCL in the team for us to have any chance.

Painful, just painful.

This is the only potential positive from the weekend. We lost a game we needed to get something out of but if forest lose we are still out of the bottom 3. And if Leeds and West Ham lose we aren't adrift. But we have made it an awful lot harder

I expect we’ll be in there by the end of today as Forest is a difficult place for any team to go, especially a very out of sorts Man Utd team missing big players.
And you'd have to take that for what it is: the exposure of our failures. I mean, if Forest beat United - who we capitulated to - that will simply be the follow up to West Ham going to Fulham and winning while we, once again, waved the white flag. We also had Bournemouth winning at Spurs, who Doucoure decided to commit hara-kiri against.

There's a pattern here and it's leading to a grim conclusion...

Why are United 'depleted' today? I haven't paid much attention. Who is out?

Varane and Martinez. They could just play Luke Shaw at CB but he's coming back from a hamstring himself. Rashford out upfront and they're toothless when he has quiet games.

I think Forest will score 100% today so see if Man. United can get anything going in final third, Casemiro and Eriksen are back at least and ready to start.

“The stench of relegation is wafting around Goodison“

Paul Joyce, Sunday Times 16th April 2023.

The man can read a room ….

Was trying to think of a game from last season that yesterday reminded me of. Would say Wolves at home, tight first half, lost a goal early in second from a simple cross and then didn't respond at all.

Ironically Newcastle was the next home game after that. Won it and things seemed possible again (although then went and lost away to West Ham and Burnley).

End of last season was a real rollercoaster in terms of results, this is more a slow lingering death as the weeks go on.

United have got the player that makes their midfield tick back in Casemiro plus Eriksen

That is true but Eriksen probably won’t start. Their attack is good enough to cause Forest problems but if their ground is loud and creating a tough atmosphere, this Man United team can fold under pressure, like us.

They are also missing 3 of their first choice back 4, which probably means a back 4 of Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Maguire and Malacia which honestly is nearly as bad as ours.

Very true. Forest don’t even need to beat them to go above us.
