I don't buy completely the talk that all three that came up will carry on on their calamitous road. A new manager for any of them and they can easily get a boost, as B'mouth did last season.

There seems to be a cavalier attitude about that we can handle a 5/6/7/8 deduction...even a 12 point deduction...but I think any over 5 hands us too much of a mountain to climb, regardless of the current table.
Yes I don’t want it and it would be a mountain to climb.

Also anything like that i hope us fans and the club fight back is pathetic this whole process. Already rumours ffp could change and will resuly in a different approach to city

Good lord I had wiped that from my memory

It was shot straight at Pope from quite a distance. Leicester were incredibly lucky to get to 0-0 at that point as Newcastle had hit the post/bar three times in the first half. The late Mina goal the same weekend at Wolves suggested everything would be o.k in the end and it just about turned alright.

Can't help chuckling everytime I see Maddison putting in MOTM performance for Spurs how critical it was Pickford psyched him out saving the penalty (he tried to do the same v Salah the other week).

That goes in and it's 3-1 down at half time on the back of Seamus injury so very big ask to get a draw that night if the penalty had been scored.

With that draw still needed 7 points from the last 4 games to get safety so that really was a 100m save from Jordan.

When do we find out?

December I think they said.

I could see it being six and then whittled down to 3 on appeal.

No points deduction but a big fine and a transfer window ban for January and maybe even next summer would be very problematic for next season though. There is precedent for that given Chelsea had one in summer 2019 so that still concerns me although I don't know if it's even in the scale of punishment options being mooted if found guilty of this charge.

I don't see Luton sacking Rob Edwards at all. It's actually a pretty happy camp and the fans are just enjoying their unexpected year in the prem. If they can turn over a few of the establishment then so much the better for them. Way Luton have approached prem is pretty similar to Burnley in 14/15, Dyche was never in danger of being sacked at any point that season and next seven years proved Burnley correct.

Sheffield United will probably make a change at some change but their squad is not good enough to even make 20 points imo.

Burnley I think will keep Kompany unless results become disastrous, was whole reason they sacked Dyche to implement a new footballing culture which Kompany did successfully last season.

Bournemouth will make a change at some point in next three months so they're the wildcard down there. Could appoint someone brilliant. Or Nathan Jones.

At least one of those below us won't remain hopless all season. That plus a points deduction of 5 for more points is an existential threat to our PL status.

Michael Olise has not played a single minute all season.

Eze injured his hamstring in late September, 6 weeks was the timescale so they'll probably save him for after the November break.

Against Spurs they just had endless DMs in their team. Will Hughes was their most advanced player in Doucoure position and he did o.k but he has no pace whatsoever so couldn't capitalise on any space infront.

It should be a slow paced game at Palace so one of those to me keep 0-0 and then step it up second half as was expertly done yesterday.
makes notes.......

Burnley got Palace at home at the weekend, that's exactly the type of game you need to be winning at this level to have a serious chance of staying up. As proven by beating Palace at home at Goodison in last two years and staying up by a win on each occasion.

Burnley beat Palace and lose at home to Brighton and difference to them would only be 3 points. They've been in the bottom 3 all season.

That said I do think there's a realistic chance now of making 20 points by xmas/new year so that would negate any points deduction.

With a full and healthy team so far.

We'll struggle badly to get to 40 points. I dint believe we will.

Any points deduction relegates us.

A 5pt deduction now would leave us 17th on GD, and 1 point away from 16th. Obviously there is a lot that can happen, injuries, managerial changes etc, and I'm not saying we would survive, or that it would be easy, but certainly the current evidence would suggest that we definitely could, and that that may actually be the (slightly) most likely outcome. Anything over 5/6 pts definitely has the potential to get pretty dicey though.

Don't bank on the bottom 3/4 continuing to be so bad. Don't bank on us keeping this form up or our injury list manageable.

IMO 5 points deduction has us bolted on to the bottom 4/5 all season, and anything north of that sinks us for sure.

This is a team that's got 39 and 36 points in the last two seasons.

It's been a relatively kind start to the season though so a decent gap over 17th should be expected.

Last season from the following home games coming up to the middle of Feb the team took the grand total of 1 point. So that's the first worry although will surely get some draws and the odd win, possibly even starting on Saturday.

Away form under Dyche has been very solid on the whole, just lost at the grounds you'd have expected to and generally picked up draws from the ones you'd have expected so no reason why team can't get at least another away win before the new year which would be needed to negate any more losses at Goodison.

Yes, that is why I put the injuries/management caveat. I agree 5pts would have us hovering right around the relegation places possibly, but just the right side of it imo. Personally think we should be good for a couple result improvement on last year, and hopefully that will be just enough to steer us safe/clear. Could be tight, and a little bit of squeaky bum time, but survivable.
