Luton have got spirit. Whether they still have that in February will probably depend on how many points they are from safety.

Bournemouth, even before yesterday, looked poor and I don't think their manager has the right credentials to get them fighting. Hope he stays there until it's too late for them to survive.

I think third from bottom will finish on around 27 points.
Let's aim for 28

I’m still not buying the theory that the bottom 3 will all get under 30 points at all.
The current trajectory for the best of them (Bournemouth / Luton) at 0.55 ppg would only take them to 25-26 points but I think you are right and Bournemouth have the talent and Luton the grind to improve that ppg over the season.

However, even a dramatic increase to 1ppg from here on takes them to 33 points and given it would take big turnarounds for 2 from 4 to set the bar higher I'd say 34 points is probably a realistic marker for safety this season.

I'd feel a lot more comfortable if we win this coming Saturday and put some real distance between us and the bottom 4 ahead of a really tough run of games, during which we have to beat some teams we may not normally be expected to beat or hope that the bottom 4 just don't pick up points either.

Keeping amongst the wolves/Fulham etc group at least means there are others in a similar position, instead of us being dragged into that mini league with Bournemouth and the promoted teams.

But realistically, with that horrible run to the end of December (including Burnley away which has a Burnley win written all over it), I'd imagine we'll be within touching distance of the bottom 3 at New Year and we'll just have to hope he can rebuild the players' confidence after what will likely be a poor run.

With the poor quality of 3 promoted clubs have to really mess up to be in a relegation battle this season, only a point deduction will have us fighting relegation.

Bournemouth are really poor. Their summer signings have not worked out. Tyler Adams injured until Feb at least. Sinisterra missing most games too. Still think we are in luck this year. We can ride our luck this year at the very least but major improvements needed then/Coming up next year will probably be Leicester and a much improved leeds with rich owners. Southampton or possibly Ipswich who look decent. All of them look to have a good chance of survival

777 partners dont fill me with much hope but we will have to up our game this summer or we will finally drop I believe

Agreed. Think our current defence/setup is solid enough to scrape a load of draws and snatch the odd win. Already more solid than the lower 3 or 4!vStill, if one or two of the “lesser” teams have a bit of a run, its still going to be tight.

The spectre of the points deduction is going to loom for a little while longer, but will hopefully work to our advantage. so we fight that little bit harder and get those points on the table ASAP.
