5 days of a blizzard of incoming players and we may have a chance. If it's just Beto then we're down.

It's as simple as that for me.

This team isnlt like a Palace or Brentford, who if they lost their first 3 games you'd bank on them coming good and getting at the very least safe.

We are kin dire all over. The loss of nine points is like starting this season with just 35 games when all others have 38...THAT team that survived last season by the odd point!

I say again: sign 3/4 players of stature or we're down. Beto cant swing this around. Not in a month of Sundays.
He needs to adapt quick; hence the decision to leave this till the 11th hour is an unreal decision from Thelwell

We’ve been linked with Beto for over a year. The board and Thelwell after that Bournemouth game should’ve been like: “ we’ve just got away with murder there, stayed up with no striker, now let’s get a proven striker in before preseason even starts.”
Not Everton, we monitor, and mull and ponder, and enquire, then get linked with a winger all summer whose club clearly aren’t gonna sell him, waste time on him (a winger not a striker) , batter two crap sides at home and lose both late on, and then decide it might be time to spend the money on that proven striker.

We stayed up by the skin of our teeth and already this season we’ve thrown away SIX points.

If DCL or a decent striker was available for one of them home games, we would’ve won, the chances we’ve missed have been criminal.
I do wonder whether it’s been financial or the personnel in the negotiations. Seemingly BK conducts the negotiations but he is in hospital apparently and Al’s tweet (for what it’s worth) said that it was Thelwell who agreed the deal. Maybe there has been a change of approach in negotiations due to a change in personnel. Just a thought

Bill is in hospital?

Last season we rolled over for some crap teams and que sorpresa, we beat or drew with some quality teams. We don't know how the season will go and regardless, the first three matches of a 38 match season isn't a particularly compelling augury.

I think we’ll be fine.

What's "fine" though?

Team were "fine" last year but ultimately it was still half an hour from being relegated.

Fine to me is what someone like Palace or Forest will be doing, 12th or 13th on about 45 points and safe by mid April.

This club is miles away from that standard nowadays. It's finished 16th and 17th and just about managed more than one point a game in one of those seasons (and that was pretty much down to that flurry of early wins under FSW).

Desperately watching for Sheffield United, Luton and Burnley's results...in August.

This club are a 'kin menace to its own fans.

It'd be a mercy for me if the game's authorities said tomorrow: we'll just end Everton for 5 years and then place them back in the PL in 2028.

I'd take that like a shot.

5 years of peace.
