Luton have averaged 0.7 points per game so far this year. With 7 games left this will mean another 5 points…. Leaving them on 27 points at the end of the season.

I cannot see them winning 4 out of their last 7 games.

I know thats true, but teams seem to pull a run together in the final games of the season, particularly if they have a chance to stay up.

They have only won 5 games in 31 so far. Cannot see them getting anywhere near 4 wins in the last 7. They have somehow become a myth in here. I can’t see them breaking 30 points

I hope you are right. But in the past clubs in the last 8 games of the season have done much better than they have in the previous 30 games. I just hope we stay at least 4 points clear of them all the way till the end of the season and dont give them any encouragement.

This weekend is a bit of a banana skin...

  1. Burnley have been putting better results together and playing with a bit more freedom / confidence
  2. Luton who now have a sniff of a chance (esp if we lose a further 3-4 points) have Bournemouth who could be on the beach now they're effectively 'up'.
  3. We played awful football at times last week
Maximum concentration lads. Pace can do for these and McNeil, Doucs and others due a goal.

Does that count for us too then?

I think we have done it in the past. the 94/95 season we got 3 points in the first 8 games and 11 points in the last 8
more recently in the 21/22 season (Rafael and lampard) we got 39 points and and 13 of them were in the last 8 games

Oher clubs in the past have had "great escapes" sunderland in 13/14 were 7 points from safety with 6 games to go and stayed up. Leicester were bottom after 20 games in 14/15 and stayed up, Wigan only had 15 points after 19 games and stayed up in 11/12 season

No chance Bournemouth are switching off yet. They are 4 points off 7th and in great form, they might have achieved safety but their ambitions will be loftier.
