Relegation Fight 2014/2015

No it's not. There were 6 teams who were doing worse than us. We were NEVER one of the worst 3 teams in the league. The fact you're referring to this so-called relegation battle in the past tense, when we have 7 games to go, really speaks volumes.

Like I said at the time, even if we'd kept up our worst form we'd have survived.

People vastly overestimated how good the other teams in this league are.

We defo weren't. I sadly remember relegation fights and this wasn't one of them this year.

Despite some wanting it to be as they've never liked Martinez from the start.

We were, just not a lost cause one like the Wimbledon/Coventry years. There's different types of relegation threats - like Moyes 2004 where we were actually safe with six games to go, but ended six points clear anyway despite not winning another game. It was still a relegation fight as we finished 17th.

Our run of form and points from the bottom three made it a realistic prospect before the Newcastle result. We were always around 15th in the form table for several months, last three games have jumped us to 8th and gave the league performance a gloss, but 3 points instead of 9 right now and we'd be staring at big trouble.

pretty sure it was only evertonians who seriously entered the prospect of relegation. tbf with 10 games left and we're only 3 points above then you can understand a few thinking like that. but that is still a quarter of the season left, there were a couple of murmurs in the media, but they will have gone now. except from bitter kopites living on hope.

and 9 points instead of 3 in other games this season and we'd be around 8th for the season. No point talking about hypotheticals, it is what is.
