Back in ‘94 when we were losing 1-0 to Wimbledon and Limpar rose and punched the ball conceding a penalty that was scored I was still convinced we were still in the game, and for those that don’t know, Wimbledon we’re a hard nut to crack. In 1998 against Coventry I was really worried and when Barmby missed the penalty I was frantic as it was followed by Dublin scoring. The last 10 minutes were excruciating.
This is worse. There is no fight in this team. Despite the talk of all to play for etc etc I don’t believe it. This is the worst Everton team and squad I’ve ever seen. This will end in a whimper rather than a bang. I certainly do not think the final game against Arsenal is going to be crucial. I think it will be all over by then.
This really is a tragedy.
In all honesty, I could cry, and probably will.

This isnt worse than those two examples...not by a long shot.

There's plenty of fight, they're just not very good...which is why we are where we are. They created enough chances to win last night and didn't take them.

They'll fight to the end. If it's good enough to get clear is anyone's guess.

My main argument that we'll stay up is that Burnley are dire too. And that fixture tonight was very definitley the easiest they'll have.

They won it, and we have to take that on the chin and move on.

There'll be plenty of time for crying in the future if we get relegated. As things stand we are not in the relegation places, Burnley are still 'kin hopeless (ask Norwich) and we have a game in hand on them.
Always the voice of reason. Hard for me to think positively about our situation, though you make some good points that make it easier.

It just sucks knowing that it's not outside the realm of possibility with this squad that we get 0 more points the rest of the season, and all it would take is an unexpected Burnley win or a coue draws to seal our fate.

Realistically, Burnley shouldn't get more than 7 points from their remaining games.

I know predictions are pointless but there or thereabouts:

Wolves (H) - 0
Watford (A) - 1
Villa (H) - 3
Spurs (A) - 0
Villa (A) - 0
Newcastle (H) - 1

Wolves are in with a chance of 6th and Villa should be winning one of the games against them given the attacking quality they've got with Coutinho, Watkins, Ings, Buendia etc.

Even if you turn one of the draws into a win, that's still only 7 points, meaning we'd only need 7 ourselves to stay up.

It hits hard mate.

As you rightly say, this is by far the worst squad of players, we have ever assembled.

Never felt so resigned to it.

But....

I still have hope that somewhere inside them all, they rally hard for the next 7 games, starting with snotting those gobshites on Sunday.

There'll be twists and turns to this yet.

Burnley/Everton and probably Leeds towards the end changing places.

Let's see who takes the fall.

It's all to play for.
I'm thinking the fact two of those 3 teams have players that remember playing in the championship not that long ago and the joy they felt getting promoted gives them an advantage. They can see things for what they are, and our overpaid lot, cannot

We're going to have to get 10 points to settle this.

Brentford, Palace we have to beat. Watford away we can win. Chelsea at home or Leicester away we can get the last one.

No way Burnley outstrip that and get 11 points form their last 6 .

I've rarely hung on your words as much as I'm doing last few weeks Dave, keep it up fella, hope you are right this time....

There's some utter 'kin cry babies on here. Grown men bleating about being relegated...when we are above Burnley by a point with a game in hand, and Burnley just had their biggest banker and it's now played and gone.

Worse than the cry babies though are the ones cracking jokes...and it isn't gallows humour either. They're about as funny as a dose of anthrax and can GTF.
Never liked the jokes about bleach drinking tbh, not comfortable with the lazy jokes about DCL either

Overpaid or not, I think they're doing their level best and have been for weeks.

It wont be Burnley or Leeds wanting it more. It'll be down to chances taken or not taken.

Overall: people have to stop swinging all over the 'kin shop from result to result.

Burnley looked out of it when we beat United and they lost the next day to Norwich. Then they got 4 points from two games to our 1 from 1 game. That's all that's happened.

FFS, people need to calm right 'kin down and see how this relegation fight turns next...and it will...and again and agian it'll twist.

These cry babies and faint hearts are 'kin atrocious. They need to grow a pair and act like men.

hope you are right this time....
