I thought they get 4 points but 6 points was a real sickener.

They had two ideal teams at home, both struggling to score.

We needed to beat Leicester and we didn't turn up for an hour.

Not wanting to raise any hopes buy I genuinely feel like this is the game to target 3 points. Apart from the Conference league we are firmly on the beach and even if we weren't we've got enough defincies to give you a chance. Our game comes straight after the 2nd leg against Roma so the outcome of that could have a huge bearing

I'm not saying it's good management, but it is what clubs are doing. Every club not in the top6 pay more for similar if they can even get them. Better scouting etc is great but it still is incredibly difficult to break into the top 6...and that's the way they like it.
Ambition from anyone outside the top 6 is laughed at. And the consequences are dire if it fails
It seems the way these days to stay financially solvent is to know your place and hope one season you get lucky in a cup run etc
How many teams outside the top6 have won the cups in recent decades? Don't know off the top of my head but it's not many
Same for the league. And now with the new coefficient qualification in the CL a top club slipping off their perch for a year isn't punished so other teams need to get lucky a few years running. Be also-rans is the message from the current structure

Sky REALLY want us relegated. It's actually disgusting how blatant they are about it. If we do go down that its absolutely our own fault but it doesn't change that fact that sky's clear agenda is a disgrace. Its clear how they see it, we offer nothing to them 99% of the time as a Premier League side, but in the championship? "Everton the fallen giants" that's a story they can work with and really sink their snake like teeth into. We'll be on almost every single week (especially if we're losing) down there.

They'll go for, tops, half their value, and that means our financial issues will very much still be a big problem while we will somehow have to juggle that with accumulating a squad that is good enough to get promoted in the first season which is all we have the budget for

Matty, if we get 12 points it really won't matter what Leeds or Burnley do, that would put us on 41 points Burnley will not get 41 points and I doubt Leeds will either.

Not buying any talk Palace will have switched off or will mail it in tonight. They are on 37, which isn’t safe. Yes, they will get the points needed at some point but it is motivation to get them tonight and have nothing to worry about.

Plus 9-15 is tightly cramped and there will be a lot of pride in finishing top half. Palace will feel they have had a pretty good season and will be looking for a league position that reflects that- 14th or 15th probably not a position they’d be happy with. No way they are mailing it in with 6 games to play.

Fingers crossed anyway.
