I am naturally concerned about relegation with our position and the teams below picking up some points but I also know there are still 18 games and 54 points available on the board.

Today wasn't what we wanted but to me that performance was on the upward trajectory.

Agreed. Lots of points on the board. Our home games will be massive and beating the teams below us is a must.

Both won today to ratchet up the pressure on us...

i'm pretty sure the teams below us are looking up and thinking "we can catch these"...

They will be.

What I’m hoping though is that we’ve been unbelievably bad for ages so hopefully at some point we’ll get some points on the board. Alternatively if teams in the bottom three have won a few it’s highly unlikely that continues and hopefully they’ll hit some bad form.

I think Watford will go.I would have said Newcastle a few weeks back but they have had a massive fillup with the takeover. Norwich will likely go and we are relying on Sean Dyce to finally fail to get a tune out of Burnley.

Sad times

To be honest when we had Kenwright as owner years ago, I was always jealous of other teams spending big money on star players, liverpools, your Man Uniteds, Arsenals, Chelsea's etc. But for the last five years we've been spending the big money and we've gone backwards, ( apart from the new ground). So that proves it's not just the money, it's the set up, the manager, coaching and getting an identity a way of actually playing football, which we simply do not possess. Funny thing is we had an identity with Moyes in charge, a way of playing, it wasn't always easy on the eye, but it did get better. Never ever been more important to get this next manager choice right and give him a chance, give him time to build.
We haven’t even got a new ground yet. It’s just a glorified beach at the moment

Watford, Burnley and Norwich for me...

... providing someone competent comes in to replace the Big Man!

deffo mate, we are so bereft of any creativity it's ridiculous.
Big part of the issue mate. We went into this season without replacing Rodriguez and Sigurdsson. Digne downed tools as well and is now gone. That's alot of chances created, goals and assists gone there. I posted about it before. I think our best bet is Barkley on loan atm

Exactly ;) Without Rodriguez and Sigurdsson there is zero creativity. Problem is filling that space is expensive and not sure Barkley would be well received, but in this position beggars can’t be choosers

To be fair mate it's only one loss from one game under Ferguson and not one win in 13 games like our last manager.

The lack of quality is there for all to see.

I’m hopeful as much as anyone that a new manager can come in and dig some results out, but I’ll be absolutely blown away if it’s through any other tactic than sitting deep and playing on the counter.

The players just do not have the technique, right through the team except maybe the wingers, to play joined up passing football. Far too many lazy touches, poor passes, and players without intelligence.
