After the cup game, we have Newcastle away Leeds at home and Southampton away. We need at least six points minimum from those games. Then we have Man City at home and Spurs away. Basically if the results go against us, in the three league games before we play city, then i'm going to start getting worried.

No he isn’t but he is the reason we are in this relegation battle. Carlo had Everton comfortably mid table. Gravy Sam had Everton comfortably mid table. Martinez was 12 when he got sacked I think. We was only going one way under Big head and silva and they got sacked when they should. We have held on to Benitez for to long it was obvious what way we was heading. We just let it keep happening. He should have been gone after the derby probably even earlier.

The quality of the squad has been developing season on season though. That’s what people don’t seem to be realising.

The squad Martinez had contained Stones Lukaku Barkley Mirallas and prime Baines Coleman. I doubt even one player in our current team gets anywhere near the levels these players were at under Martinez at times.

Even under Silva we had Zouma and Gueye in the team who would absolutely walk into this side.

We were comfortably mid table under Ancelotti because he was one of the best managers in the history of football, and even then we were tenth.

This is a bottom half squad plain and simple, and when you take out some of the better players it’s one of the worst squads in the league. Some people don’t want to accept this though because it seems to dilute their criticism of Benitez but how anyone can’t see this is beyond me. We can barely put three passes together!

Heard the entire azul family have booked out the Winslow for an epic session on the last day of the season…Keith azul is on karaoke duty and Clive is sorting out the party games.

These are midtable players so we should be about 10th or 11th not in a relegation scrap. The manager did a horrendous job and was rightfully sacked.

No one thinks top 6 is realistic. But bottom 5 is totally unacceptable

They’ve been at it for months with me, I don’t really care, we’ll be revisiting the exact same discussion in the future when the new manager eventually falls foul of all the same problems. Chris and co are just the can kickers looking for the quick fix.

He was awful for us though, and created this mess. Benitez is thankfully gone now. What's now important is getting the right manager, to undo the damage he caused.

I had looked at the fixtures a few weeks ago, and thought the next 5 games before City would decide our faith....we've now lost 2 of them.....defeat to Newcastle would leave us 1 point off the bottom 3, with alot of tough games to come.....this is quickly becoming a desperate situation...Newcastle and Leeds are must win games now, simple as...

Relegation hasn't crippled Leicester, Villa or Wolves.

As I always say - Villa went down, came back up and are now above us.

What did we achieve all those years that Villa were in the championship? What was so great and joyous for our fans that Villa fans were missing out on?

You can throw Newcastle into the above mix once the Saudi's start their sports washing.

Not saying I want relegation but the obsession our fans have with "we'll go down and not come back lad promise u dat" is nonsense - Norwich and Fulham literally come up and down every season and their accounts are brilliant because of the PL parachute money.

We're nothing but another mid table outfit these days - akin to a Palace and Southampton and our day will likely come - but we WILL march on.
