…dropped into the Leeds forum & although they seem most keen that we were relegated, they now appear resigned to thinking it’s between them & Burnley. They don’t rate their chance of picking up points as likely as I do;

A few Leeds fans joined the Championship page I'm on yesterday, last week it was Everton fans week before Burnley fans ?

I'm feeling more confident about playing Watford now. Moral is surely low for them and I cant see Hodgson getting them going for a game that means nothing to him or them. I seen something on here from their Forum about a protest so I'm not even sure their fans will be supporting them either. Early goal for us and they fold.

I'd then love Burnley or Leeds to lose their next 2 games, I don't really care which one tbh jus get us safe as soon as possible!

Realistically 4 points should do it for us. We will have GD over Leeds, and I can't see them picking more more than 5 points.

But yeah, beating Watford will give us a ton of breathing room. Can we possibly win two away on the spin?

I am still incredibly nervous about Watford. Yes, yesterday was fantastic and I just hope we can carry on this momentum… Everton playing away though, nothing is certain.
I know what you mean but Watford have just two wins, bizarrely won against Man U, and a draw at home this season. If you could choose to play a side based on their home form it would be Watford. Whether Everton can take advantage of that is another matter

The after effects of the tapastits era right there mate - I think all rational blues feel exactly the same as you do.

In fairness apart from one season each under Ancelotti and Martinez, Everton playing away from home has always been a nightmare. We went a calendar year under Allardyce/Silva not winning an away game. We weren’t great under Moyes away from home drawing way too many. We’ve just always had a poor mentality about it as a club.

We due a good high scoring win and Watford is the chance to do it. They have nothing to play for as they down and Hodgson leaving so no Manager to impress to keep their jobs if contracts up.

Oh I know, I’m Not saying we’ve been brilliant away previously, but it wasn’t as bad as this season which was a disgrace under pigman, home and away tbh - that’s irrefutable.

Ancelotti nailed it because he just knew how to set us up away from home. Other managers didn't really try to adopt the fact that we weren't playing at Goodison into their tactics when it does make a difference. In a way, we've always been able to get results in matches as the clear underdogs if we simply just treated it as such.. but also emphasising the fact that we can get results anywhere through a bit of graft & nous even if we're under the cosh. As I said originally, Ancelotti seemed to figure that out, and was a testament to his huge amount of experience in the game.

We struggled at home because we have a squad who clearly couldn't take proper control of a game like we were expected to, and without the fans to drive them on it was even more difficult, particularly in the second half of the season when we weren't able to settle on one starting XI and system, like, ever.

Dont count your chickens mate.

This was an already relegated team.

Take absolutely nothing for granted.
