We are eighteenth in the form table. We will loose the next two games.

We are not too good to go down. I struggle to see where the points will come from to keep us up. I can’t see us getting past 34. Which may or may not be enough.

We've got 15 games left we can surely manage 12+ points. The form table isn't as relevant now as the players downed tools under Benitez. Anything from the next two games is a bonus but we've taken points off United, Spurs, Arsenal and Chelsea this season even under Benitez. The idea of writing off games is stupid.

If 40 points was likely needed it'd be a bit more hairy.

I agree the crazy results is our only hope. Then again it might be a draw here, a win there but 12+ points?

Let's also be honest about this (and honesty is what we need at this point in time) the fact that our supporters have not got behind a manager for a large chunk of this season has contributed to where we are right now. Outsiders to the club would have no problem in observing that. Most got behind Benitez and gave him a chance; many many others refused to do that and when the results were turning poor their impact was enormous in affecting the way the majority of Evertonians felt about the season and the manager.

We have to be big enough to recognise that as a major issue for where we are now if we're to use the rest of the season to get behind these dossers in blue shirts to get them over the line. There has to be a mea culpa here because it's a big dimension to this predicament.

There's a lot of blame to go around here.

Being on the verge or relegation, or beng in danger of, for a club with 500 million worth of players, I think we fans are entitled to be more edgy than normal? Even Benitez himself. He knew exactly where this was heading ast summer: a sacking and a nice pay out. How the hell was he gonna deliver with 1.6 million investment?

Newcastle have been winning games with a midfield 3 of Shelvey, Joelinton and Willock. These aren’t great players but they are getting through on work rate and organisation.

If we can somehow keep Allan, Doucoure and VdB fit then these 3 should be the cornerstone of the team. Play Richi and whatever 2 other attackers look most on it.

Anyone who got behind the appointment didn't have the best interests of the club at heart - it's as simple as that.

You cannot call yourself an Everton and support the appointment of a manager with no credentials to succeed. Even worse was the continued support well after the point of no return. If we are relegated, it will be because we didn't replace the manager until late January, rather than early December, when it was already more than clear this could never work. People were more interested in not being wrong on the internet, than seeing the club get back on its feet.

The only fans to blame are those who continued to support a manager who was taking the club towards certain relegation, whilst being allowed to sell a key player. The division was caused by the ludicrous appointment, and it wasn't fans who made the appointment.

What gives me pause for comfort is that Leeds & Brentford above us are getting sucked in, Brentford especially. They've played more games than anyone in the league and are still only 2 points above us and seemingly can't buy a win these days.

Why was the home form so bad last season then without fans? Why is the away form so poor this season with only one win?

Most wins this season have been inspired by the crowd anyway. Arsenal, Leeds, second half comebacks against Southampton and Burnley. The fans are doing their bit this season. I'd like to see the likes of Watford or Burnley fans roar their team on to a win.

I reckon burnley are staying up for sure, their performances have steadily improved, have a manager and players used to being in this position etc.

it depends on if Norwich and brentford go on a run.I can’t see are own players fighting for their lives for a point, they aren’t built for a relegation scrap. I still think we will stay up, but it will be super close and will be because of the 4 or 5 wins we got at the start of the season.

what’s clear though is these bunch of players are a disgrace and the structure of the club is a farce. No manager is at fault for building this team. And we fans have bigged them up and
overrated them for years.
We definitely are at fault for overating the players bigging up very average players based on one good game in four.
We do not have one player on the books that would get into a top four side and I would not be against selling any of them.
I am seriously worried and feel if we start April in the bottom 3 we will go down.

The manager is too low on that list, Dave.

Benitez knew what he was doing when he ditched a creative digne and replaced him with two none starters.

Inch towards the finish line and ditch the dross

True, but if they can get results this weekend whilst we face City, it does pile some pressure on us. But its so so important that we continue to play our game and ignore the pressure

See the way Leeds played with heart: they'll stay up.

They have major players out but still have their system and workrate and honesty.

Compared to them we're a shambles.

I don't know Dave. To go that hard at United at home with that crowd and go 2 down and get it to 2-2 and continue to lose 4-2

Thats gonna be a gut wrencher for their players.

Their defence is a total mess too, its arguably worse than ours, they are forever in 6s and 7s

Their next games are Liverpool, Spurs and Leicester - Similar to us I guess
