Let's also be honest about this (and honesty is what we need at this point in time) the fact that our supporters have not got behind a manager for a large chunk of this season has contributed to where we are right now. Outsiders to the club would have no problem in observing that. Most got behind Benitez and gave him a chance; many many others refused to do that and when the results were turning poor their impact was enormous in affecting the way the majority of Evertonians felt about the season and the manager.

We have to be big enough to recognise that as a major issue for where we are now if we're to use the rest of the season to get behind these dossers in blue shirts to get them over the line. There has to be a mea culpa here because it's a big dimension to this predicament.

There's a lot of blame to go around here.

Dave, reading that it looks like you might need another session with @HalewoodBlue! ?

Looks like our watford game after newcastle is being rearranged for the 20th.

But if we win the cup game it will be pushed back further.

Good news for us imo

Yeah it will only take place that weekend if we lose to Boreham Wood. Don't think there is any way it can be rearranged prior to the March international break, because we already have midweek games on the 3rd and 17th, and can't see it being rearranged at 5 or 6 days notice. So we could have 3 midweek league games in April. Might end up with a double header over the easter weekend.

I just like that were going to be able to be dead on our feet after newcastle and not have to worry about watford

Correct.

I always say though that all roads lead to Moshiri. His hirings and his meddling with the playing side of the club has been catastrophic. Even the fans who have acted poorly did so because he ushered in a new era where we had fans thinking we could spend our way to a good team and sack any manager after 18 months if we didn't get success.

That's why the 27 minute protest group didn't scan for me: it is completely obvious that we need shut of Moshiri but they dodge that and prefer to point everywhere else as the source of our woes.
I’ve said it before, as others have, but Moshiri needs to keep out of any direct football decisions! Within 12 months of his take over he should have made sure the right people with the right expertise were appointed to the right jobs, from the CEO and the Chairman downwards!
He’s getting off very lightly at the moment solely because of BMD!

It’s clear to me that we aren’t going to get relegated. There’s several worse teams in the league (as badly as things are going) and I just cannot see not getting wins at home.

But on a different note, is there not a scenario where relegation might actually be a good thing?
Other than put us in an almighty financial mess that we may take years to overcome, you mean?

No, there isn't such a scenario where it's a good thing.

With several players on £80k+ a week that are and will continue to be impossible to shift? No there isn’t.

I'm not sure how people think Everton will be okay if they go down

Clubs like Norwich are set up in a way to go up and down

Everton going would absolutely ruin for club for years. I don't think we will go down in the end, but there aren't any positives at all about going down (apart from some meltdowns on here)

It would be Sunderland 2.0, players like Gomes, Iwobi, Gbamin, Rondon etc would be going absolutely nowhere for the next 2 years like Rodwell and Kone at Sunderland and just drain the club. If we were lucky someone like Palace might take Keane for £10m. Unless we somehow came straight back up the next season we would be crippled, could easily be a Leeds and be down there for 15 years.
