I’m not convinced by that.
I understand, and I've been there.

I was there when Villa went down with one of the most horrific PL seasons imaginable with no discernable talent in the team and a toxic atmosphere.

I was also there when we stayed up against the odds after being 1/33 to go down with five games to go, in a much worse position than Everton are. A win makes ALL the difference when you are fighting against a bunch of other teams, and you aren't far away judging by the City game. Remember that it's basically now 1 from Burnley, you, Leeds and Brentford, and I'd have your squad over all of theirs. You also have the games in hand.

You can more or less count the away games in hand as void. If we stay up it will be points from Goodison. This lot havent got a dig an away win in them.

Just have to hope gray and godfrey make difference, genuine pace always helps.... Mindd you, i said the same when doucoure came back lol

I agree @MACCA75. I wanted us to go for Lascelles a couple of years ago, when it became clear that Keane was a lost cause. And some on here were laughing when they signed Burn. He might be a bit of a grock, but that’s what you need in a relegation fight, not a mouse at CB, like we have.

We should have got Targett from Villa on loan instead of El Ghazi too.

Everton are 7/2 for relegation for a reason. You aren't likely to go down. If you are convinced you should shove a load of money on it. It got me a bloody holiday in 15/16.

Oh don't worry, I got in on that gravy train when we were at 7/1. Utterly convinced of it now

Those aren’t exactly long odds…
Burnley - evens
Leeds - 6/4
Brentford - 4/1

I understand why given the Spurs pasting is so recent and form is off, but the majority on here are acting like you're certain to go down. Speaking from experience it can get very toxic which isn't healthy - for you and your own lives, and for the team you're supporting. Regardless of the money they earn, the majority of those players are still basically kids who wanted to play football their whole lives and are now in this situation where they're visibly petrified of losing. They are just humans who can get massively affected by support, motivation and atmosphere around them.

But I'd still put money on them to go down as I do every time I feel Villa are in the sh1t. Somehow eases the mental torture a little.

Has anyone read this and understand it? Does this mean we can sign players from Ukraine or Russia for the rest of the season? If so there could be a few players to help us out of this mess
Suggests we could register a player outside Normal rules? Any decent centre backs at allllll?!?!!?

Although there’s twists and turns to come, Leeds should win this weekend and could easily take 6 points from the two games but if Burnley beat Brentford we are in bottom three by Sunday, but it drags Brentford back down. We could do with a favour from villa Thursday and also a Brentford v Burnley draw

Fun this - not

Burnley - evens
Leeds - 6/4
Brentford - 4/1

And Norwich 1/40 and Watford 1/8
