Relegation

As painful and heartbreaking as relegation would/will be I can't help but have the feeling that its the only way to even begin fixing the club. Nothing can change for the better at Everton while the hierarchy that has brought us to this remains the same. If we stay up this season then the revisionists will repackaged the season as a "great escape" and a moment to be proud of that we "overcame" such adversity. They'll move on and pretend this season didn't happen. Only if we go down will they be forced to face up to their failures and deal with the reality of it.

Kenwright and the board simply can not be allowed to continue their association with the club anymore. They are the route cause of this disaster, they set the tone for this and laid the groundwork for it decades ago. They have poisoned a massive chunk of our fanbase into happily accepting mediocrity and worse repacked in various forms for far to long. It was always going to take an unparalleled disaster to finally wake up the vast majority of loyalists (even now there's still some defending the board) who have blindly defended them for so long, this is that unparalleled disaster.
Kenwright has a red echo newspaper clipping, with the headline SAFE framed on his office wall. I mean Everton just about avoiding relegation, is something to be disgusted and ashamed about.

Good old Bill though sees it as a badge of honour and something to celebrate, and plaster the walls with. A few top six finishes and a FA Cup final defeat, what good times good old Bill has given us.

We don't make them decisions do we ?
The club hired benitez a man who you backed to the last against fans wishes.
Yeah but my point is why cant we shown our club the levels of support other clubs do, like Palace tonight, we all thought Goodison would be rocking for Villa and it was lame them too.
Lampard has said repeatedly they need the fans but it's not going to happen.

And who still insists Sam Allardyce shouldn’t have been sacked
Name a manager since has has done as well?
The appointment of Silva was the start of this, which wasn't Marco's fault, it was on Moshiri, and he has single handedly killed us. Even if we survive this season too much damage has been done.

It was hopping for Leeds..it was for City.
It was for a while yesterday. But if what happens on the pitch is not good enough then people aren't goin to sign and dance.
There a lot of people to blame for where we are . The fans aren't the issue.
Anyone who thinks that is like a battered wife who still thinks they are the problem not the one doin the batterin .

You make such a good point.

If we fans can’t get motivated to do our bit when the prospect of relegation is looming then when will we?

It’s no coincidence that when Frank first came in and we fans were getting right behind the players the performances were different. After we thrashed Leeds their winger Daniel James said we had been like a 12th man and had really given our players the edge.

But when we fans are negative we’re REALLY negative. And that undoubtedly destroys the confidence of our players.

I remember being at the Wimbledon game in ‘94 and the fans really knew what was required that day. The enthusiasm and encouragement lifted the players. We needed that against Wolves and we didn’t really see it, apart from maybe the first half an hour of the match. As the Watford goalkeeper said the other week, we Everton fans are often seen as an asset… to the opposition!

I’m treading old ground here but the man literally sleptwalked to 8th when an opening was there to push on and get Europe

I'm going to contact the club and ask them to get the players to boo the fans Thursday.
They have been the real reason for our demise. How dare they pay hard earned money , travel the length of the country and expect highly paid players to actually kick a ball in a straight line , Mark a man , track a run , make a tackle or actually give a toss. Shame on the fans and hooray for our brave warriors on the pitch representing our club with pride.
