I don`t think the high line suits our defenders but that is not to say we can`t use it in certain games because it will compress the size of the team.
I also don`t think we need to be one dimensional, why not have a team that can react to different scenarios in the game. 4-2-3-1 or a 4-3-3 will allow the front 3 to press high but when we dont win the ball in the 1st 10 seconds it also allows for us to sit in and defend deep until we can get the ball back. It will also allow us to play through the 3rds and keep possession whilst getting players high up the pitch.
I worry with this group and pressing high, because if they beat the press we are goosed and this bunch of frauds can not play like that for 90 mins. Again I`d like a team that can do both sides of defending by pressing high and able to park the bus when needed but also able to counter attack or keep good possession of the ball..... But that is my beliefs and my style which as a coach is the way I prefer to set up.
