Maybe, but 4 wins from a team that have won 2 of their last 20 games.....?

They have to double that tally in their remaining 10 games.

What about Watford? They've taken 7 points from last 7 games. Worse GD but one point closer. Leeds at home is massive for them next weekend. Sort of game they need to win to give them momentum for final few weeks.

It may have come across wrong didn’t mean it like that or you didn’t read it what I wrote correctly , I just think some are worrying about Leeds and Brentford getting points and that doesn't matter at all to us, it the 3 below us that matter. Why are people even mentioning the likes of Leeds and Brentford?
Makes sense to look at them, Leeds especially, as many have predicted over the whole season that Burnley will get out of it as they seem to always do, they’re also on roughly the same amount of games as us. Too much of a risk to focus on just 17th and assuming any of the teams below us can even go on a short run.

After today though Brentford are definitely safe. I think if we got 5 or 6 points in the next 4 games it’d do well for us to separate more from the pack below and also drag Leeds into it. The more teams in the fight the better for us, if it’s just us the pressure will be immense and these cowards won’t handle it.

Yes. It's not certain that the bottom 3 will be the bottom 3. But I think it probably will be.

But onto us: we have a greater number of points to go for than all of them in the bottom 5.

A win tomorrow or even a hard fought draw gets us more distance from it.

They've also lost 13 games while we've lost 16 and they've drew 12 to our 4 so while they're not getting wins they're capable of getting points. Added to that they've an easier run in than us. I reckon they'll only lose another 4 or 5 games while we'll lose 6 or 7. Hope I'm wrong and you're right mate.

But all that said if we beat Watford and Burnley we'll be fine so all focus needs to be on those games imo and just do what we can with the rest. That should be enough to limp over the line

No good getting a point tomorrow though if then it's a meek loss at Turf Moor.

In that scenario it would be Burnley 24 points, Everton 26 points and a poorer GD so back to near Apocalypse.

Whereas 3-0 loss tomorrow but battling 1-1 on Wednesday and gap to Burnley at least remains 4 points which is o.k with games running out.

Of course ideal scenario is win tomorrow and win Wednesday and team is very close to safety but dosen't really seem likely with all the issues right through the 11 that Lampard is still in a muddle with.

….a draw tomorrow is a terrific result.

Because the premier league can be a mad old place. And it’s not beyond the realms of possibility for Watford or Burnley to put together a couple of wins in a row to put us in all sorts of bother. I’d rather have some sort of comfort blanket in a leeds/Brentford/Newcastle being in the mix than none at all.
True, but the time for comfort blankets is over. It's time for Everton to show they merit top-flight status and put Burnley and Watford to bed. As we play both, we have the chance to save ourselves. Let's face it, if we cannot do that why are we agonising? Sport is brutally meritocratic. Lose tomorrow and Wednesday and we can start to accept that we're not up to it. We will deserve relegation. At some point, this manager and these players have to prove their worth - or be found out. This week will be definitive. Lose both those games - or even the Burnley match - and everybody will be revealed for what they are: Championship standard.

Time for a bit of fire, Everton, or else just get off the pot.

The rest of them down there with us will be bricking it watching our game tomorrow.

We have a free shot tomorrow before we go to Turf Moor.

Your optimism is commendable however since our decent start ended, let’s the say after the Man U away game, we have won 3 league games in 20. There’s only been 2 draws to. This shower really are going to need to well and truly find something from somewhere.
