We will probably only need 5 more wins. 36 or 37 points will be enough. If we cant get 5 wins from our last 21 games then we deserve to go down.

I see us stumbling our way to about 45 points and relative safety. It will be a very poor season whatever happens but I dont see us being in trouble come April.

Rondon is Benitez fault. But Delph, Gbamin, Tosun, Holgate and Iwobi aren’t his fault. Injuries to DCL, Richarlison, Gray, Mina, Gomes, Townsend and Davies aren’t his fault. The recruitment prior to his arrival isn’t his fault. The financial situation isn’t his fault.

To be honest, he is responsible for about five percent of the problems. The rest is on the club hierarchy.

I understand some don’t want him, but sacking him doesn’t solve the problems we have. It’s the wrong solution to the wrong problem.

If you just want to get rid of Benitez, you also have to find a budget to pay him and his staff if and a budget to recruit who???

We will obviously have managers knocking the door down to manage our squad and be offered a zero transfer budget to initiate the change.

You are probably right but we'd have saved ourselves a lot of grief, worrying and in-fighting as fans if we were about 5-7 points better off by now.
 


My only interest in property football now is hoping we avoid relegation.

I've not watched European football since it became a boring runners up league. I'll not be watching the next World Cup, just like I've not watched the qualifiers because its location just represents how corrupt the game is. All that's left is our position in the league- I can watch that in fear - but I can no longer watch this ugly, inept football.

We have only had (as of now if it stays the same) 5 from 18. And 4 of them came in the first month or so. Off the evidence so far, it we will be hard pressed to win another 5.
