Just to reassure some. Burnley have won 3 games out of 28. They win a game every 10 played.

The likelihood that they therefore win 3 out of 10 (which is likely the minimum needed to beat the drop) is somewhat remote.

Burnley are probably going down. They are in the last chance saloon (we are not). They must win tonight.

Nothing gets decided tonight.

But it gets decided tonight..
Whats would changed for me if we lose is we become 1 of the 3 sides odds on the go down. It's between us and them i think. First four games aside they are ahead of us in the table by a distance. If they beat us. Thier run in is miles better than ours. It'll be against the odds that we survive in my view.

As bad as Burnley are they are miles ahead of us on season form if you take the great start (first four games) out of the equation. They have a much better run in. No use saying Burnley are crap when we are worse with a much worse run in. We beat them then ok. We lose then to call Burnley crap is a preposterous reason to reason why we will stay up.

Allardyce saying you can only play what the players are capable of. While in theory I probably agree, we are talking about Premier league players and internationals, that is how poor the standard of football is these days, even t the top end they're crap outside of a few.

He is right, were also only as good as our weakest players, and ours are shocking.

Been away from here since west ham game just got me so angry with the team so needed a break from all everton stuff. Really need the players to pull ys out of this the rest of the games we have left

Newcastle were similar until they won 6 out of 7. Brentford hadn’t won for months but won 3 out of 4, Leeds were similar and have 7 points from 3 games.

One of Watford and Burnley will put a couple of wins together, I’ve no doubt about that. We have to do the same.

I'm sure there is one of these posted every season and we end up no where near relegation.

Currently 1 point off 5th, 2 off 4th as it stands. We will end up between 8th and 12th like we have been the past 4 seasons.
Would love to think this way. But being realistic, since I have been going the game (69-70), this is the worst squad of players we have had. Coupled with lack of form, mistakes on a game by game basis, injuries, suspensions, strikers not scoring or even looking likely to score, I think we will be very very lucky to survive the drop.

It is ALL the clubs own fault. Recruitment of players has been nothing short of disasterous for the last 7 years.

I know that's what I am saying about the standard of footballer these days, ours are atrocious and they're premier league players, the standard has dropped considerably since money went through the roof imo

Is this the biggest gap between ourselves and Liverpool in over 30 years? It's incredible. They've got almost 3x as many points as us and their reserve eleven would walk all over our strongest eleven.

Since December 2020, we've only scored 3+ goals in a Premier League game 5 times. Liverpool have done so 20 times.

The last 10 games they've taken 30 points and have +23 goal difference. Our last 10 games we have taken 6 points and have -11 goal difference.

Our last 'run' of form (I've determined it was 3+ fixtures in a row where we took points) was between 14th August and 13th September where we won 3 and drew 1. Following that run, we've only picked up 4 victories since, and only had 1 time where we took points from 2 successive games (Norwich home win, Man United away draw).

With the fixtures we have remaining, it's hard to see us putting together another run, but if we can do, it'll probably the 11th - 19th of May that will determine our future - Watford away, Brentford home, Palace home. Two of those sides will be mathematically safe by then.
