Only a matter of time for me, paper thin squad with only 2/3 quality players, we now have no money to improve and I’d bet my life on DCL and Rico wanting out this summer

Our run up to New Year looks horrendous and could easily see us in the bottom 5, do these players have the mental strength to dig themselves out of danger, I’d say not looking at the characters in the squad, how will they be mentally if the get hidings like yesterday from the likes of Chelsea / City / Liverpool / Spurs etc

Once the rot kicks in does this manager and squad turn it around?

I’m looking at the table and praying there’s two other sides on top of Norwich who will keep failing to win
You called it. Bottom 5 in the New Year. It's going to be quite horrible from March onwards to get away from the drop.

You have to be absolutely dismal to go down these days. There's 3 teams worse than we'll ever be.

My concern is this Everton board repeating their previous 3 years again.
Norwich and Burnley are awful. Newcastle will do everything they can to buy their way out. That rearranged fixture against them could be quite relevant.

….my fear is we could get dragged into it, but we could just as easily be in the comfort zone with a few quick wins. I find it difficult to predict us with Benitez in charge, things could go sceptic if we lose a few on the bounce. Hopefully he can tick points over.

Impressed enough with Newcastle recently to think they will go on a decent run, I imagine they will invest heavily this month.

For the magical 40pts we need another 21pts over 20games.

I think with 2 new full backs and a defensive midfielder we should finish around 10th.

My guess is that if thats the case Benitez keeps his job until next season.

The defence he's putting out and 2 centre mids plan is truly concerning though.

When you look back at teams like villa , Leeds when they went pop , West Ham years ago and the like we look like one of them . Merrygoround of managers , hotch potch of a squad , complete lack of fight , angry disconnected fanbase , no leaders , aging signings on big money failing to contribute etc ..

We are like loads of teams that it catches up with them eventually, we certainly fit the criteria. I’m worried where these wild are coming from personally.

Bookies obviously reckon Everton have the clout to avoid relegation.
They say Norwich Watford and Burnley for the drop . The form league is worrying though !

Aye, all of those teams stank of mismanagement at multiple levels over a period of time. You can chuck Sunderland and Wolves in there too. The rot behind the scenes needs sorting at Everton too.

Some may argue booting Brands is part of that, but my worry is that the person / people who hired both Walsh and Brands are doing said booting. And will then decide the way forward. In short - I don't trust the right decisions will be made based on previous form.

It's like a relationship that's gone bad. If your partner keep letting you down - or lies to you.. you no longer trust them. I have no faith in Everton and, right now, I'm not caring enough to let them hurt me.

Mind you - If that flashy bird from over the road with the big house and massive extension, Annie what's her name - the one I can't stand who is always hanging around chasing that big wealthy git from Manchester and taking short breaks all over Europe - were to fall on her backside and look a total mess at least I'd have something to laugh about..

Do you remember when she bought half the street and built the new extension. Some people can get away with anything.. even damaging listed walls.
