Just more little brother stuff isn't it?

Again, more little brother stuff, you think you have a rivalry but it's not really that close in terms of sporting competition. You're just proving my point with every post. As for my sporting prowess, the internet is no place to brag to strangers.
Little brother stuff...since your clearly biased being an outsider and il forgive you being so naive ,Ireland has only a tenth of the population of England and the 2 sports most played by people in Ireland aren't played by the English so there is no comparison you can make fairly that Ireland should be doing better than England competitively in similar sport. If you think the 2 countries aren't competitive as sporting rivals your head is in the clouds

Does population effect china's or Indias contribution to football? Or NZs domination of international rugby? The population excuse is a myth.

Football in general of the context of the population of those 2 countries is non existent. Rugby is by far the number 1 sport in new Zealand
What are China #1 in sport at? Nothing of note. New Zealand has more people playing football than rugbyat club level, so that's debatable.

The goalposts keep shifting, now its no longer about population its about who's interested in the sport.

Just seen that Moldova have picked up 9 points in this qualifying campaign. A figure that is impossible for Ireland to now surpass.

I also couldn’t help noticing that Slovenia are topping their group and looking likely to qualify for the tournament.

To add to this, Kosovo, a country that has existed for 10 years, have picked up 7 points in this campaign.

I’m not saying Ireland should be expected to compete with these nations given the population difference of course. That would be unfair.
Kazakhstan have 12 points too, albeit in a congested group (they are fourth).

You could argue *dons tin hat* that England are OVERARCHING due to the fine footballing resources (i.e academies and grassroots), strong leagues, and healthy competition for national team places creating a surplus of talent.

Enough to supply other home nations whilst reaching the end stages of international tournaments.

Purely a devil's advocate perspective. Please discuss respectfully and peacefully GOT.
This is the future IMO. England regularly being one of the best teams in any given tournament whilst also generously supplying good players to other countries around the world, not just the home countries.

I think we’re already not far off putting a whole squad together of players England have donated to lesser teams

I feel the same way about Ireland mate! ;)

Mepham - Ampadu - Lewis

D. James - McTominay - Cullen - Brooks

C. Robinson - Adams - Washington

There’s a starting XI of English players that we’ve donated to charity to help the less fortunate. That team would probably just about be able to beat a professional opponent in a group stage campaign too. Imagine what these teams would be like if we removed their English players.

You could make an even better one if you include other countries.

Lamptey Mepham Ampadu Robinson

Musah McTominay

Carvalho Musiala Brooks

Balogun

Then you’ve still got Broja, Antonio, Gray, Iwobi, O’Riley, Lookman etc etc

It’s nearly time for one of my favourite times of the year. No, not Christmas, but the next international break.

What footballing delights will *checks Wikipedia* Stephen Kenny’s golden generation have in store for us this time out? I’m sure this time they’ll be able to muster up a win against a team of professional footballers. Maybe some Irish lads will even get a game this time. Ok ok, I said maybe.
