Richard Keys claims Rafael Benitez tried to leave Newcastle United for Everton twice

Small Club he called us.
Why is there even a thread about him.
Some blues... (n)

I think he was referring to the way we set up against them and other top four teams under Moyes, and he was right. Look at Moyes record against the top teams of the day, and tell me that Benitez was wrong?

I've read several comments on here over the last day that say exactly the same of Moyes. We need to get over that and appreciate that this man is a world class manager that when given the funds can work miracles.

Spanish Sam Allardyce, even Bruce is doing a better job at Newcastle

Bruce has admitted that they are now using Rafas tactics and training methods as the team was so drilled in that style, they couldn't play his way. Funnily enough, results have been improving since reverting back to Rafael's style.

""I didn't want to be disrespectful to the club. I was talking about the way they were playing, not the club," said the 51-year-old, who in a Merseyside derby day interview with The Independent today expresses his desire to return to the top reaches of management, preferably in the Premier League.

The Spaniard's "small club" comments came after the 0-0 draw at Anfield in February 2007. "When we had the meeting with the manager in the boot room and we were having a drink I explained [to David Moyes] what I meant," said Benitez."

But yes, we can hold a grudge about basically nothing or we can move on. I vote move on, and up.

That makes no sense what is "playing like a small club".

He basically said Everton couldn't match Liverpool so had to resort to parking the bus as they are a small club.

The thing I find most depressing is the fact that Moyes and Rafael had this spat in 2007, it's 2019 and these two are the most likely to be next Everton manager, we really havnt moved on much in the last decade, in fact both of them have lower stock now than they did 12 years ago

If this fat Spanish mutant ever rocks up to Goodison to coach his tedious percentage football, they had better beef up the security around the home dugout.

Get over it. Move on.
Rafael comes in and wins the cup will half of us be sulking or celebrating.

Next Wednesday night, 10.05pm I want Cenk on a sub to volley a last minute winner into the Anfield Road end. Rafael sprints (light jog) towards the mayhem in the Everton end, finger to his lips at the home fans as he starts kissing the Everton badge on his suit. He splits his pants as he joins in a mass pile of Everton player bodies.

If he does that he will do for me

LOL love it ...it's what my Amazon Prime subscritpion has been waiting for

Think Rafael is exactly what the club need. Back him fully, he will do a job.
Also known to be ruthless demanding which will mean most of our current under performing mercenaries would be bombed out at first opportunity. Question is, and given his association with the dark side would he manage Everton.
Personally I'd have over both Spurs previous and current manager.
