I hope Everton tell them to jog right on and then donate £250k to a worthy cause like children’s cancer charity, for example.

It’s grotesque!

It is but Everton have made countless millions because of the fellas business acumen . As I understand it The organisation itself can’t pay him as its money is held by its members , namely the clubs . So the story really is chief executive makes business hundreds of millions and wants golden goodbye . I’m not saying it’s right but I can see why it’s occurred .

Not really sure what the problem is with it to be fair. The guy has played a huge part in making it the most exciting league in the world and made clubs super rich in the process with TV deals etc. So nothing wrong with asking clubs to show a bit of gratitude.

Never change lad , never change

None of you know what he's gonna do with the cash either, he may well donate it to a worthy cause, yet you'll have spent 10 pages chastising him in the meantime.

A good guy that's done an outstanding job and deserves credit for it.

The football powerbroker that for me would have been very happy to see the whole football pyramid reduced to just 40 clubs, with the implementation of a PL 1 & 2. Those not invited, simply feeder clubs or left to slowly peter out until future generations would not remember them or the true history of football in this country. That endgame never happened but he is retiring at 59 so I would imagine he's very comfortably set and invited by his mates to feed at the PL trough until the day that he shuffles off this mortal coil. Not saying he didn't do the job he was set in selling the PL to the highest bidder, but an awful lot of great things about football in this country have been lost along way, not least losing touch with its football roots in the working classes; the affinity that footballers had with the fans; and the romance of David overcoming Goliath more regularly than happens these days (Leicester apart.) No doubt he's done his job, but the game today is not the one that I or many others fell in love with. No bonus due I reckon - you've had enough mate.
The loss of the Saturday 3 o clock kick is my biggest regret
We used to get the Friday night boat over from Dublin
Arrive at 7-30 am , straight to the pub for breakfast pints and a strip show
Then the match , a few pints and boat at night to be home for Sunday morning
My dad worked on Liverpool Docks and he said they would all finish at 1 pm on a sat and straight to the pub and then the match

Crack pot idea suggested and coming from one of the richest clubs who have benefited the most. Why only requested from the 20 clubs in the Premier League this season? Why not all the clubs who have been in the league during any season of his tenure? Why has the Premier League hierarchy not provided a pension provision for their staff, or have they? Has Scudamore, after many years of being the recipient of a decent salary (& no doubt very lucrative expenses and some freebies), got his own private pension fund? He seems to have a decent 'Net Worth' although not mega, so he shouldn't be seen in a doorway with his dog in the near future. What sanctions will non contributing clubs be subject to? All seems like a mafia request for tribute to be paid. Of course, Dicky may donate all the proceeds to charity demonstrating that he has not got his nose in the trough, or he could just put the idea to bed himself and decline the proposed bung.

5 million could set up a shelter for some homeless people. Feed a Syrian refugee camp for a year. I'm positive he does not need it. It would be a class act if he donated it to charity if he does receive it.

Every footballers wages the same though surely ? Millions on Transfer fees for players who didn’t perform and the same in wages . So much money squandered on them , or paying off big Sam and Koeman even Martinez whilst they’re on the beach it’d drive you insane if you went through it all . You just can’t think about football as anything normal because it just isn’t .
