This is an utter disgrace and underlines the contempt people now have for the 'business' side of football.

It is one thing actual footballers and managers being on obscene wages, but it has well and truly extended to a growing army of agents and administrators too.

What a message to send to wider society after a prolonged period of recession.

Let Chelsea pay him if they want.
Exactly, Buck and scudamore are big pals by all accounts so he can sort it the cheeky sod

The cheek of it! I agree that this would be a disgrace, should it actually happen. I dont agree with people saying the money should be given to the homeless. I'd rather see it given to people that are incapable of helping themselves.

Great idea, fella has been a good servant for the league and a nice send off for him.

Good luck to the fella.

He's never done me any harm and it's nice to see length of service being recognised.
Exactly, not sure why everyone objects to it, fella has done a good job for however many years and is getting a well earned bonus pay off. 250 grand is nothing to clubs these days.

Not really sure what the problem is with it to be fair. The guy has played a huge part in making it the most exciting league in the world and made clubs super rich in the process with TV deals etc. So nothing wrong with asking clubs to show a bit of gratitude.

None of you know what he's gonna do with the cash either, he may well donate it to a worthy cause, yet you'll have spent 10 pages chastising him in the meantime.

A good guy that's done an outstanding job and deserves credit for it.

I think the fact his mate has gone to the club's to ask them makes it worse.

The fact is though, he's been paid very well for doing a good job. We don't even know what performance bonuses he may have received over that time as well.

I`m on the fence at the mo.

If he spent the money wisely and went on a 6 month coke and lady boy bender in Phuket, complete with video diary, I`d be happy if everyone gave him 250K.

I need to know what our erstwhile font of all rational thought makes of this before I decide.

@Joey66 your thoughts sir ?
