Richarlison at Spurs

Something a bit off with Everton likely to get relegated while our best striker from last season plays infrequently for a team that will probably finish 5th, and Leeds may well go down while their best player of the last few years comes on for the occasional 5 minutes for Man City. I miss football from my formative years when clubs either kept their best player or they went on to actually play for a bigger club.

Its exactly why football is finished.

FFP means you have to sell your best players consistently if you want to keep investing whilst the cabal can stockpile the best talent on 150k a week contracts.

The PL era when Shearer was at Newcastle, Le Tissier at Southampton, Ferguson at Everton, Viduka at Leeds, Di Canio West Ham, Sutton at Blackburn etc. is over.

The top 6 won’t allow a single decent player in the bottom 14 now. Anyone who is half decent will find themselves snapped up pretty soon. Vardy is probably the last of a dying breed and even then Arsenal tried to take him.

It’s not a league anymore, it’s 6 teams with massive global revenues with every single aspect in their favour, then there’s 14 other teams locked out who are just there to make up the cannon fodder.

You're right except FFP isn't really causing this. You take FFP out and the clubs owned by nations can still outspend everyone. You're picking the wrong enemy.

What a wild take. So Maddison and Tielemans don’t play for Leicester, Guimaraes doesn’t play for Newcastle, Rice doesn’t play for West Ham, Ward-Prowse doesn’t play for Southampton, Neves doesn’t play for Wolves, Zaha doesn’t play for Palace, Toney doesn’t play for Brentford and Mitrovic doesn’t play for Fulham. Just because all our players happen to be crap through years of dreadful recruitment, doesn’t mean “decent players aren’t allowed to play for the other 14”. I mean you’ve just used Vardy as an example for some bizarre reason even though he stayed at Leicester. The examples of loyal players from back in the day don’t make sense either because Ferguson left for Newcastle, Di Canio came over when he was 30 and had previously played for Juventus and AC Milan, and Sutton played for loads of clubs as did Viduka.

Mate you missed out Iwobi playing for Everton Football Club.

Almost as weird as actually thinking that a big club would have even been interested in Ferguson. As much as I loved the fella as a kid, Everton was absolutely his level.

Viduka was a flabby gimp who had a couple of good years at a top half team.

Rice is the only top level player there and he will be going most probably this summer. I’ll be amazed if Maddison stays at Leicester as well. If Guimaraes maintains his levels he’ll be off as well unless Newcastle pay him a state fortune to stay. Zaha left Palace as soon as United came calling, the only reason he’s back there is because he wasn’t good enough for them. The rest of the players in your list are either bang average or not good enough for a top 6 team. There’s no point debating any of this work you thought because you’ve never been wrong about anything ever.

There will always be inequality in the sport outside of a salary or transfer cap across the board.

However give me a world without FFP where we can dream a multi billionaire one day buys us and can spend as much as they want than the current reality of knowing whoever buys us between now - 100 years from now wont be able take us into the elite and winning titles as its a completely closed shop by the system itself.

It's the ridiculous P&S rules which has closed the shop at the top. It doesn't matter what we do now, that's why it pees me off that City and Chelsea just seem to be able to spend what they like, while we are scrutinized to the point we actually didn't sign a player.

Nobody can tell me this league is fair competition.

Richarlison though, he'll be on his way again this summer if he doesn't pull his socks up.
