Richarlison at Spurs

Some people are just very single minded - its how politician's can win elections based on a single stance i.e brexit.

People expect our revenues to match CL clubs without being able to spend the sort of money to get regular CL exposure its crazy.

Even what we spent in the Moshiri reign wouldn't get you that and we had to sell top players to still be able to do that like Lukaku, Stones, Gana et al. Clubs like Chelsea and City who exploited the game pre FFP never have to sell any top player so they can continue squad building.

You look at Silva and had he not had to sell Gana and if he had the ability to spend £50-60 millions on a proven CF instead of Kean, 2x 40 millions wide players like RS can do with Diaz and Jota and replaced Zouma with a £60 millions CB like RS/Utd/Chelsea etc do then maybe we get top 4 that season and the rest is 'istory.

We did buy a £50m forward, Richarlison.

We did have two £40m attackers, Sigurdsson and Iwobi.

We did replace Gana, with Gbamin.

We bought £60m worth of CB’s, Mina and Keane. And then Godfrey to add to that.

City sold 3 first teamers last summer, Jesus, Zinchenko and Sterling.

LOL

If it wasn’t for the rules reining us in actually I think we could’ve easily ended up like Portsmouth or even Bury in a matter of years. This owner is a deranged maniac.
Don't for one minute think the rules are there to stop you becoming the next Bury. They were designed to stop clubs becoming the next Chelsea or the next Manchester City. It's all about the red clubs stopping others from threatening their dominance.

Sad thing is most fans of the other 14 clubs were more arsed about the big 6 breaking off to the super league and losing the likes of KDB and Salah playing in this league than of the hopes of getting football back to some kind of equal footing and being able to compete for league titles and trophies - the whole point of the sport.

The fact Liverpool and Man Utd fans love FFP more than any other fanbase tells you all you need to know.

I have no issue with you City lads - Shiekh Mansour should be able to spend what the hell he wants providing its not bank loans taken out on the club.

The lad couldn't get out of Merseyside quick enough, only time he's coming back is on the opposite team. Some peeps on here are deluded. He's not that good anyway, average.

COYB!

John.
Nah, he wasn't as bad as Mane for the rs. I believe that he left on fairly good terms with Evertonians.

Yes, however, FFP is effecting our situation - no FFP, no issue spending the last three windows. It doers not appear to hamper other clubs like it has us. I know they have bigger incomes etc but, we are the only club to have had spending caps it seems.
We have done very little to increase our revenue streams though for the best part of 20+ years, to do so would have meant bringing in proper marketing and commercial and branding experts and that would have meant Kenwright loosening his grip a little which was never going to happen was it it, and Moshiri has only ever been bothered about BMD imo. The reason WE have spending caps is that our wage bill is 90%+ of our turnover which is ridiculous, it should be about 60-70% for a club like ours. I'm not surprised we are under spending caps, i'm surprised we haven't had a transfer embargo brought in tbh.

What great marketing have the other clubs done in the league who haven't had CL footie/trophies ?

You're talking the difference of maybe a few quid its a drop in the ocean to the reality of the top 6 who's revenues dwarf everyone because they are in the golden goose competition every season, win trophies and titles and have millions of glory hunters worldwide buying their tat mate.

Ya'll gonna be dissapointed when whoever takes over EFC isn't having our revenues up there with the likes of Spurs and Man Utd because it takes more than just "clever marketing".

WHU have a free stadium and Newcastle will be doped by Saudi sponsers and will still be a long way off.
