Because his value, just like any other player (or any item you could mention) is dictated by what the market will pay.

If a couple of EPL clubs joined the race, his price could double instantly. It would appear that 19 EPL managers don’t rate Lookman as highly as some on here to.
And maybe 20.
This is true.. but as we have proven.. it just takes 1!

Have to say...after all my pontificating last night...if he comes here with that pace and them skills, He would deffo improve us, at least in balls going forwards...he looks a beast.

That first goal against us was class in terms of compusure, touch and finish. If he got 5 in 12 for watford under Silva and can carry that form onto us, you would have to fancy him to contribute double figures. Expect the same from Walcott too. I remember Koeman always wanted more goals and productivity from wide. We may finally have that.

I question the level of competition he's played against. I mean, I did see Everton in that video.

He's a physical specimen

I would rather save the money and give Lookman a promising contract and more game time.

Richarlison impressed me last season at times but he is a gamble nonetheless. We have a player in Lookman with raw ability who could probably excel past Richarlison.

Save the money and invest in a decent centre back.

How do we know having this kid and buying a good CB are mutually exclusive?

How about having Lookman AND Richarlison for when Walcott inevitably gets injured.

For the we should let Lookman play crowd consider that all his production at RBL came in a similar spurt to Richarlison just at the other end of the season

Mate, it looks pretty certain now that Lookman wants out, these little bits of information are crucial. Also, we are in for a centre back as we have spoken to Mina according to his agent.

It looks like whatever the club do, there will be know alls cry arsing just for the sake of it.

This is absolutely garbage business. Don't we have scouts in other leagues than the PL, or at former staffs clubs? Stupid. Director of football my ass
Brands wanted him when he was at PSV... they both agree on it so that's a good thing. It's not our money... anyone would think they were spending our own money buying these players.

I have read that four times now and i am still none the wiser....
He's saying that people talk highly of Lookman after a relatively small purple patch at Leipzig, whereas Richarlison had a similar purple patch at Watford and...

I'm more than willing to give the lad a chance, however I would be lying if I didn't have misgivings about the size of the fee; we'll see how it goes.

Agree totally, I cant quite get my head around the negative wums on social media and some of the doom merchant's posting in GOT. I think most rational fans would agree that priority is 1. LB 2. CB 3. Left sided winger 4. CM who can box to box preferably. Yet despite some positive news that the club is active in at least 3 of those positions I am still reading so much misery. Combining the new signings with the good players we do have plus a new management structure for me spells improvement and better football. This will take at least 2 years to mold so let's be patient and positive. We won't win the league this year but hopefully can challenge in cups and bring a style back to the club. Would take that in a heartbeat right now. Onward and upwards

£50m will be briefed to the press by watford. It may well end up being £50m but everton will have some silly clauses involved. Im not that worries as clearly silva has worked with him and knows him well. There was talk that silva had promised a couple of players to bring with him to everton if he’d have got the job.

If buying him means the end of mirallas and bolasie then it’s fine by me
