Confirmed Signing Richarlison

I think had we signed Richarlison last summer for 11m, we all would have been excited about getting a young Brazilian before the big boys snapped him up...

Signing him a year later, after only 3 months of form, for between 40-50m (depending on which reports you read), is where fans start questioning our transfer dealings...

Would have also thought when Brands was interviewed about this job, he had better ideas than a deal like this (or other deals like Mina, Wellbeck, Zaha, Januzaj which are being rumoured about).... Wheres this years Richarlison?.... If we liked Lozano and Mina before the World Cup, why didn't we move then..

I guess we'll find out in the next 3 weeks if Brands has more up his sleeve than Walsh did...

It worries me if Moshiri thinks a change of manager will fix the problems of last season... It really won't...

I'm happy with Richarlison, much needed pace to our left side... Just don't think it's sustainable for us to keep spending big money on players like this, we need to be spotting this talent earlier otherwise whats the point of Brands...

That isn't the point of a DoF.

A DoF is not a scout.

Not a chance but surely he'd improve some teams mentioned.

On Richarlson, the workrate stats are fantastic. Bare minimum in a player for me.

Just wondering if you rate Messi?

No he's sh1te.

Love these selective smart @ss comments. I said workrate, does Messi have immense workrate? Yes he does otherwise he wouldn't be one of the best players to ever play the game ffs.

Different ways of playing the game, Messi walks away from play to find space. Others hare after the ball flying into tackles. It is the end result I care about.

So I go back to my original statement, workrate is a bare minimum. Ronaldo, Messi, Salah, Aguero, Suarez etc are amongst the top players in the game and all share a characteristic, good workrate. Look at Klopp at Liverpool, seems it is essential to the way he plays. This is just one box ticked for Richarlison for me.

Brands is the Director of Football, not a scout

I’m Glad we are buying this type of player. Last Christmas he was linked with Liverpool and Chelsea. The media wouldn’t have thought he would come to us, obviously he dropped off 2nd half of the season.
Usually the media are Linking us with the same players, Huddersfield, Fulham and Southampton won’t.

I hope we spend 80-100mil on a player in the next 12 months just to shut them up. Linked with Zaha, turn on TalkSPORT and I hear “he won’t go to Everton”

He is built for the premier league and has all the attributes to become a top-level footballer. Whatever the fee paid, see it as an investment.
