Took his goal very well. But yesterday firmed up my view that he's less effective playing on the left. He's our biggest attacking threat, we need to be playing him in his best position.

Think he's better on the left than on the right as he can cut in onto his favoured foot. But I'm with you, think he needs to be closer to goal. Would love to see some kind of 2 striker formation where he can play off of a more traditional centre forward.

That would of course require us to have a centre forward worthy of being described as such on our books. Roll on January!

....terrific again being in the box to convert a cross from the other flank. I love that, it’s so easy to stay on your own flank and not bother getting on the end of things.

Doesnt take long for the “you don’t deserve nice things” shouts to come out as soon as you dare to suggest a player isn’t perfect.

It's a badly cringe shout, on the lines of "Moshy's got this" or similar.

It shouldn't take him scoring to get people off his back. I'm not blameless here myself but we need to remember he is one of the few who could be a building block for this team.

Mate,I have been shocked at the treatment of Tom on here and at the game,anyone could see it was there and just needed nurturing but people were just too impatioant.

Regarding the song though, I was pointing out that only Richie gets his name sung like that by 30k fans and occasionally Bernard, not even Seamus anymore, Saying he gets unjust criticism is mad, he is loved more than any of our players.The criticism he gets is well deserved too.

Early on he won the ball, lifted it over a player, continued the run and played a brilliant through ball to walcott. He is always improving.

Needs quality around him.

walcott, cenk and siggy are not that.

Shame we couldn't get Zaha as I think him and Richy would wreck teams.

When we are often in a good position our selves and he rathers try (and fail) to buy a free kick rather than try and actually use the ball it does. He needs to cut it out mate, simple as. Also, it is not even diving, it is just dropping to the floor.

We disadvantage ourselves by trying to keep some kind of diving high horse. We should be leading the way. Dive until they decide to do something about it.

He's a cracking player, yeah he's not perfect and does some things better than others. he scores goals and works his socks off but everyone focuses on his foul reactions, Its quite an odd thing some of our fans do; constantly focusing on negatives. This lads positives far outweigh his negatives in my opinion.
